One thing to keep in mind is that this rule has been known to be coming for an extra year -- the enforcement part of the rule (taking the score off the board) was delayed for a season to make sure everyone had plenty of time to adjust.

So, with this new format you can't see who else is viewing the page you are on, right, or am I missing something?

Lisa and the cat stay.  8-)

For the moment, no. I've looked through and can't find the setting that would allow me to turn it on, but if it's not here I'll look for a plug-in to handle it, because I also liked that feature.

I don't see a ref calling this unless it's in the middle of a 49-0 game.

Exactly. Can you imagine a TD being taken off the board in a tight, critical game with title (conference or playoff) implications.

It will most certainly happen in a close game, guaranteed.  8-)

Any word on who's doing MIAC Pick-ems this year?

Looks like the folks on the corner of Cretin and Summit will be selling football (and basketball) tickets online this season:

It's unfortunate for the Toms that the majority of the people that will be using this function will be the pissed off army of Johnnie fans that will descend upon O'Shaughnessy Stadium on October 1.

Other than the SJU game UST does not have large enough crowds to necessitate online sales.  For the SJU game it might make sense and maybe be cost effective.

When did the Tommies name their field Palmer Field?
How much money did Mr. Palmer fork over for that honor?

On another note...last night my wife and I hosted a BBQ party (Ribs, Brisket, and Pulled Pork cooked by 2 other guys and myself).  One of the guests is a Tommie and was asking about the Johnnie / Tommie game.  He was hoping to take his family up and wanted to know of a good place to stay overnight around Collegeville.  When I informed him that the game was at UST he was very disappointed.  I kind of chuckled at the fact that he did have clue where the game was being played and wanted it to be in Collegeville.  ;D

Online ticket sales would make more sense for SJU, especially for homecoming or when the Toms or Royals are in town. Some of those ticket lines are ridiculous.

This would be a good time to start rumors about the folks on the corner of Cretin and Summit making a leap to a higher echelon of the NCAA from D3.

Frank's wholly uninformative and utterly useless MIAC football capsules are up on his blog (FYI: I'm channeling TDT here and am not serious.  I am deeply grateful for Frank's efforts.)

He's got Hamline, Carleton, Augsburg and Gustavus up.  His blog is here.

Flash, as many of us realize, has been MIA for a few months.  I think I may have just located him in the UK:  Man Arrested For Drunken Sex Whilst Driving.

How do I know it's flash?  From the article:

He most likely never spilled a drop.

Great weekend at the Stiftungsfest! 150th anniversary of the event and I found out that this was the 55th anniversary of when they started serving the famous burgers. Friday night was rocking with Hairball playing for the street dance.

Yesterday during the parade there was a group of guys dressed up as Nazi soldiers. First time I have ever seen that. Then again, it is a German celebration.

Gearing up for the Stiftungsfestivities this coming Saturday. Northwestern fans are welcome to attend the tailgate party. We are located in the parking lot above the scoreboard end of the football field. We usually get the grills going around 10:00 a.m.
