The red cups should be out by now. Good luck Johnnies, although I don't think they will need any.

My Devils have D-2 Black Hills State at home today. Should be a tight game. Hopefully victory beers at the Stout Ale House afterwards.

Damn I love home game days.  8-)

I'm not sure if MRF is a regular contributor to the MIAC boards, but I thought his assessment of the past 12+ years was spot on:

Don't think he's a poster, but his brother is a regular.

No "Gameday Notes" up on SJU's site.  What's up with that?

Gameday Notes are up at GoJohnnies.com.

SJU does a stellar job with the Gameday Notes. They definitely set the MIAC and DIII standard for excellence.

One minor beef. Under the "Winning Tradition" section, they note that SJU hasn't had a losing season since 1967, marking 43 straight seasons without a losing record. (A notable achievement by the way) They then list the other MIAC schools according to "Consecutive Seasons Without a Losing Record (including 2010)."

Bethel actually has 17 consecutive seasons without a losing record, not 2. Their last season with a losing record was in 1993.

Big money Labor Day Weekend Golf match stormed out (Bad News)
Here to listen to the Johnnie game (Good News)  ...... Maybe. After listening to the first two series. Are we sure they didn't switch uniforms?

Fake punt by SNC called back on an illegal shift...

55 - 3 Final score. Nice win for BU. (guess I should have had more faith in 'em on pick-em's  :o)

Bethel with 605 yds total offense, 439 yds rushing. Aakre 10 for 139 and Marquardt 18 for 208! He doesn't seem as shifty as Porta and Flannery, but he's definitely got a higher top end.

D held Simpson to 109 yds, our 1's held 'em to 52.

TE Wright and WR Hilbrands each had around 55 yds rec.

And it appears we have a kicker!!!!! 7 for 8 on PAT's

UST 20 - SNC 7

7 for 144 for Waldvogel.

Tracy with 349 yds passing, 2 INT's.

Held SNC to 180 yds. UST over 400 yds.

St. Norberts isn't an easy team to open the season with, but looks like the Tommie's prevailed in the end.

Congrats to Fritz for becoming the all time receiving leaders at UST. From what I've heard, he's a the kind of guy you want to own the record.

Congratulations to the winners, particularly the Johnnies.  It looks like we have a sophomore QB now, eh?  He certainly dominated in the stats Dept.  How did he do as a leader?

Not to nit-pick on a guy that might be brand new to writing about the Johnnies and/or D3 football. But, who is this Ben Katzner character that's writing for the SC Times: "Johnnie alumni from far and wide attend games regularly, but the home opener is always among the biggest crowds." (Emphasis added)

I don't think he could be more wrong.

Actually, I shouldn't be so harsh. It was the only blemish on an otherwise very nice article about game day in Collegeville.
That last post was a bit petty of me.

I see Johnnie Tats managed to work his 25 cents in. ;)

Not Tracy's best game, but the wideouts really stepped up. SNC loaded the box the entire game, thus all the passing. D played very well, but there is a ton of room for improvement to say the very least.

SagatagSam, good to see you back on the board. Hope all is well.
