Bench,  I'm afraid I have to agree with TDT.  Johnnie tailgate on the Summit boulevard and/or the median will be happening.  Hopefully St. Paul's finest will make a return appearance.

Johnnie Red, Miss Minnesota USA is a former Tommie.  Perhaps I can get her to make an appearance at the tailgate.  I was her boss at my last company.

Here's some of her current work.  She interviews Mike Grant in the second one.

For you old timers, she is Art Thelemann's niece.

Well, if you guys are tailgating on the median, I have every intention of seeing that. However, once the cops show up, I'm a ghost. What's St. Paul's policy on median drinking? They didn't have much of a policy on sidewalk/middle of the street drinking during the WCHA Final Five/NCAA Frozen Four last year.

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, this is my first UST/SJU game at UST since I was a "player." I've either been a broke law student, living in DC, or making the trip to Collegeville.

Bench,  the cops are very cool about the whole thing.  As long as you are discreet and no minors are partaking they are just fine.  I have photos of them from 3 years ago when we were banned from the parking lot and were forced onto the boulevard, which is not U$T property.

DOC, the median of Summit Avenue is, in fact, a big move up.

In terms of having the Stiftungsfestivities for the Johnnie-Tommie game on October 1, we should probably have it in the parking lot by the buildings south of Summit Avenue and west of Cretin Avenue. I have been to some tailgate parties there in the past that were hosted by Tommies.

We got the little guy home yesterday.  Thanks to all those that dropped me words of support and encouragement.  He's doing well.  They're still keeping an eye on the jaundice, but it is great to get him out from under the light therapy!

You might remember Chris Norton, the Luther College freshman football player who was injured in a game last fall and paralyzed from the neck down.  He has been nominated for a Courage in Sports award.  Please go to:

and vote for Chris.

His story is truly amazing.  If he were a professional or D1 player he'd be on the national news once a month.

Agreed. In fact, Eric LeGrand at Rutgers got hurt the same way on the same day last year and you know many more people get to see his story on a regular basis.

Since the list has swollen to one, thanks for asking Tim, of people who have emailed me asking if I was still alive, .....I am. I retired in April, and my eyes are giving me problems, so I stay off the computer except to check my email. I am healthy, down to 175 pounds, and exercizing daily. Hope to resolve my eye problems soon and get back in the loop. Miss you guys, hope everyone is well.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Good to know that you are alive and kicking.

A few others have commented on here about your prolonged absence.  So the list is at least 3.  Or at least 2.  I know Oz Johnnie commented a while back.

Hope your eye condition improves soon.  We all miss your rapier wit.  (Tommies, you can ask Maniac and Bench what that means.)
