SJU defense gives up 529 yards to Augsburg...never thought I would say that  :o

The Gophers were making a nice comeback against NDSU...but now they choked  :-\

Is it too early to start ice fishing?

They were in cover 2. Point being they had only one safety back on first and essentially 80, with 17 seconds left.

Also, why not go for 2 after the go ahead TD for SJU? It would put you up 6 and force Auggie to make Xtra point to win-which they missed twice. Maybe coaching?

Just watched the highlight.

That was not Cover 2. For some inexplicable reason the safety bites up on the receiver and the completion is made over his head. It looks like player, not coach error to me. But the corner is deep as well. Granted, they could have been in cover 4 or full on prevent, but they weren't in Cover 2.

Ah-whatever-game over-coaches should have played at least 2-3 guys back-bad decision. Remember only 17 seconds left.
Part of coaching is knowing your talent and coaching to that level-granted SJU had had some excellent players on defense in the past, but when you don't you need to alter your coverages or game plan. We all know these coaches are great with excellent players, but now gotta adjust to having average at best players.
Also, SJU has beaten team with better talent in years past-will be interesting to see from here on out as coaches will now have to beat teams with better game plans and schemes.

I've had a beef with this for a while.  If you're going to claim an attendance title, actually count your attendance.  And if you're going to make up a number, don't blatantly inflate it.  :-\

They should really only be counting paid attendance.  I don't know how to account for student attendance when they get in for free.  About the only way to do that would be to scan their student ID.  My guess is the attendance numbers drop rapidly in the coming weeks.

For counting purposes, at least at UWW, they funnel students to one side of the gate and they have people with clickers and people to make sure they don't miss anyone coming in and they get counted that way since you need to show your student ID to them to get in while on the other side of the gate it's the normal way for everyone else with tickets. I don't think it would be too bad for St. Johns to go that route as well.

Students may not be paying at the gate, but they are paying through their tuition and student fees.
My opinion is that if they are in the stadium, count 'em.

What's next, if they don't cheer, they should not be counted?

Pat Coleman

I think if they are actually in attendance, they should be counted.

I think they should be counted.  My problem is that I don't believe they are counting.  I think it's more of a...big crowd--looks like 12,000 to me.

Well....that completes the O-fer...as in 0-4 for me this weekend.  My Hopkins Royals lose on Friday, Johnnies and Gophers on Saturday and now the Vikes.  Time to discover a new hobby...but first I'll mow the lawn.   :'(
