How is the Tommie broadcast on WCCO?  Been thinking about switching it up this week.

A tradition unrivaled...

How on earth was the attendance record for UST's stadium (8541) set in 1982?  Wasn't there a bigger crowd on hand in 2003?  Anyone care to look that up?

Also of note:
Students of both schools are asked to be respectful -- shirts in poor taste will not be allowed. Be proud of your institutions and support the positive aspects of this rivalry.    Uhh...yeah, right.

And of tailgating note:
Prohibited:
All alcoholic beverages, regardless of age.
Charcoal, wood and other combustible burning materials.
Glass containers of any kind.
Amplified music or loud and disruptive noise.
Buses and RV's.
Carry-ins to the stadium.
Any non-university sponsored sales of food or merchandise.
Animals except service animals for special needs patrons.

So, even an nicely aged scotch is not allowed?  And no combustible burning materials?  Sorry, but propane falls into that category, as well.

I like Dave Lee, I find him hard to listen too.  Same with Eric Nelson, who is filling in for Joe Senser.

If you donate $1,000,000 to U$T I'm sure you could get a spot in the luxury sky box and have your scotch delivered on a tray.   8-)

The odd thing is, the server is a shirtless Don Roney wearing a bow tie. At first it was off-putting, but as soon as I found out we were allowed to put our cigars out on him, I was all for it.

AND Ollie gets into UST in 18 years, no questions asked! Tough to pass up, Duff  :)

I dont mind Dave Lee..he's actually learing to pronounce MIAC names correctly! I really like the job Steve Thompson does in studio-- that man has a voice that is perfect for radio!!

Last week, I caught what must have been the tail end of a Michele (too full of me) Tofoya interview with Caruso. Her last line cracked me up-- she couldnt get him to look ahead to the SJU game and concluded: "Glenn, you must Fear The Ear"
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

the 2003 crowd is listed as 7300 in the box score.

Also, I think we've established that the St. Paul Police are not in the business of enforcing the lack of permits to those who want to tailgate on Summit's median.

I agree.  I've watched the MMQB videos and think that they do a really solid job with the highlights and Caruso's commentary.  It is a good relations tool for fans, alumni, etc.  I would definitely be interested in hearing Johnson's take on Bethel games in a similar format.

Outside of it being interesting, I'm sure it is a great experience for the students who work to put the show together.

Great experience for the students and something good for their CVs.  It seems like MMMQ serves the same purpose for all participants.  Tommies may suck, but you have to give them credit for sucking so consistently.

Usually only the coeds get this deal, Duff.  This is pretty special stuff you'll need to consider.

I am just guessing, but I think in 2003 they limited the number for the people through the door for safety/fire code reasons.  In 1982 that wasn't such a concern.

Which makes me wonder, will they close the doors on Sat. when they get too many people inside?

They don't expect to turn anyone away. 2500 seats have been added in the North end zone and 1000 have been added in the South end zone. Plus standing room.

It does seem rather Bethel-esque. We just don't want the kids from Macalester driving-by to mistake our football game for Burning Man and make it all weird.

Bethel is MUCH more accommodating.

You can drink at Bethel? Interesting.

Unfortunately, UST has zero parking, and zero space to congregate that's not on the quad.
