Now I know why attorneys have a bad name. Lame joke  :)
Wasn't that big heckler from the Bullets an attorney?

DT Edmond Smith, Sr., Augsburg
Smith led the Auggies with a career-high 16 tackles (five solo), including a half-sack, 2.0 tackles for-loss and a fumble recovery, in Augsburg's 35-14 win against Carleton. Augsburg's defense limited the Knights to 63 total yards in the second half -- 10 passing. Smith had seven assisted tackles, including 1.5 for-loss, in the second half. Congrats on the big game against Carleton.

I think it is part of the atmosphere, having College students let the opposing team know what they think, "heckling."
As for adults-non-college students-alumni "heckling" college players-not so much, especially DIII.
This keeps getting better and better.  The standing room underneath the veranda is not reserved for adults-non-college students-alumni as you put it. The standing room is open and free for anyone to stand and to "heckle" opposing players or for opposing fans to cheer for their own team.  You can't judge the basis of something off of some misinterpeted post that already was proved to be false.  There could have been anyone standing there, and there was quite a variety of people standing there.
A note on the Augsburg game for upcoming Tommie fans, there are a slated number of tickets available for St. Thomas.  It should be a good one, it will be interesting to see how both teams game plan.

What's so interesting about The Tommies kicking the bleep out of Auggie?

You guys are funny-so touchy.
I wasn't talking about UST-just in general it is sad to see some 30 year old guy heckling college kids. But whatever floats your boat-have fun.

Please let this let this heckling/not-heckling issue die.  The worst habits of the Internet have come to roost on this board.  The bickering is more anal and less thoughtful than what happens on the WIAC board when they argue about which of their sisters to kiss.

If we don't let it go, then we may be fined by the Hull City Council...

THE parents of British four-year-old Alfie Lansdell have been threatened with a $7720 council fine after receiving complaints that the youngster is too noisy when playing in his family's yard.

Or worse, some readers could be driven to going for a swim...

A creature described as a "sea animal" chewed off both arms of a Russian swimmer in an extremely rare attack in the waters off its Far Eastern coast.

No chatter about the BU/SJU matchup?  Both teams are coming off of huge losses (one by a big point spread, one by a huge comeback).  How will they respond?
While I think this one will be closer than the UST/SJU game, I still think BU will win it by several TDs.

A tradition unrivaled...

Has SJU ever lost 3 consecutive MIAC games?  :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Duff:
I posted several days ago wondering the same thng regarding how the teams will respond. I too think this game will be closer, maybe another Collegeville Miracle? This time for the good guys.  :)
In any event, I hope the SJU football team shows it is improving, like '97, slowly getting better and in position for a run next year.

In '86, they lost to Concordia, followed by a tie with Macalaster, then a loss to St. Thomas.
In '83, they lost to SCSU (non-MIAC), followed by a loss to Hamline, then a loss to St. Thomas.
In '73, they lost to UMD (MIAC from '51-'75)), followed by a loss to Gustavus, then a loss to Augsburg.
In '67, they lost to Concordia, followed by a loss to Macalaster, then a loss to St. Thomas.

So, it's been since 1973...my dad's senior year at SJU  :o

Quote"It comes down to execution," defensive assistant Gary Fasching said. "We need to start executing better. It's really that simple. The coaches need to coach better. The players need to play to play better. We have a lot of talent. We just need to start doing things better."

And this is why Gary has 2 state championships and a national championship. Simple, direct, and true.
