SJU 2012 Schedule is up on the GoJohnnie website.. http://gojohnnies.com/schedule.aspx?path=football&schedule=205

SJU better be ready to play with 2 of 3 games vs opponents the Johnnies lost to in 2011.  My only beef is we start replacing Northwestern with the premier UMAC program St. Scholastica.

Developing....

Pretty tough start to the year.  At least with Northwestern game the SJU players should be able to win that game and build confidence as the next 4 games are pretty tough based on this years scores.

Has SJU settled on a QB yet?  If so, what year is he?

Concordia will have a new QB going into next season and in the triple option wing offense it's very important to have a athlete who can make quick decisions.

Nope.  There was an article yesterday stating that the job will still be up for grabs next August.  The three that saw the most playing time this year (Ries, Bruns, and Krebsbach) all return.

A tradition unrivaled...

Very nice and big pick-up for St. Thomas football and basketball team today - get a commitment from David Simmet of Hill Murray.

David Simmet, 6'9 295, OL, Hill-Murray (4A) - Receiving recruiting interest from and will be attending camps at Minnesota and Wisconsin. Starting offensive lineman as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. Starting on Hill-Murray basketball team and averaging 13.7 ppg.

I'd be willing to bet Hill-Murray head coach and Grand Forks native (and HS teammate to USTBench) Brooks Bollinger will be funneling this gigantic child to his alma mater, Wisconsin.

Although, former UST coach (and teammate to USTBench in college) Joe Lepsche is now a defensive coordinator at Hill Murray...so who knows?

I understand there is a movie in production "Six Degrees of Separation from UST Bench"
Kevin Bacon will play the part of UST Bench. Brooks Bollinger will appear as himself & Brock Lesnar will play Joe Lepsche.  8-)

Kevin Bacon wishes he had the acting chops to play me. And the body.

Ries will return as a senior next year. Krebsbach and Bruns return as juniors.
And then, who knows if a freshman from this year's squad or a new face comes in a steals the show (a la Alex Kofoed in 2004).

Does Brett Elliot have any eligibility left?

Watching the UW-Stout v. Augsburg hockey game on the live stream. Well done by Auggie, I must say.

Robert Zimmerman

I have heard that Nate Meyer, the senior quarterback from Rocori, is strongly considering SJU.  Rocori is in the state semi-finals and Meyer is a very good leader and athlete.  Also, he is Eric Decker's step-brother so if it turns out he doesn't go to SJU, at least we can talk for the next 4 years how good we would have been had he attended SJU.

On an unrelated note, I walked through the guidance office today at the high school I teach at and there was a purple UST kleenx box on the counter.  I guess UST uses them for advertising and recruiting when they visit high schools.  The guidance counseler from our high school, a Cobber, asked me if I would refuse to use the UST tissues.  I said, "on the contrary, I can't think of anything else I would rather blow my snot on."

I could go for another confident, skilled quarterback from ROCORI H.S. to lead the Johnnies. Any word on where else he is considering besides SJU?

Here's to finishing the regular season with a 5-way 2nd place tie in the MIAC at 5-3. It could unravel that way tomorrow.

Go to the page dealing with D III Rivalries to take in more of SUADC's butchery of the English language. It's hard to believe he actually went to college as he claims.
