It can't be about the money.  They would have surely offered a pay-per-view option by now if that was the case.  They're afraid of giving potential playoff opponents more game film to review.

I think that's a really dumb premise for them to follow.
It's not very difficult to get film on any game if you ask around.
Besides, the opponents would have to PAY to get that feed!
All this would do is make it a little easier for opponents to get their hands on the game tapes.
The trade off would be more exposure, and it could make recruiting easier.

For any playoff opponent to get film would violate conference bylaws or any non conference agreements.

Pat Coleman

That is probably true in most conferences, Russell, but Sam is right -- it's not very difficult to get video on games.

I followed John onto the field after the game.  Wanted to get a shot of him shaking hands with Hamline coach John Pate.  Hamline coach never showed.  I don't recall that ever happening.  Mike LaBore, Beau LaBore's younger brother, was the only Hamline coach to do so.  John kept looking around, but Pate never showed.  Maybe he was searching for

;D

Would +1 if I had the power.

From the recap of Carleton's Sept. win over Hamline:

"While the Knights picked up their first win of the season in this game, Hamline is still searching for its first victory, which has proven as elusive as Sasquatch in a remote, dense forest."

Coincidence?  I'm betting against.

Bizarre. I just hope this jerk doesn't take Hamline the way of Mac.

I'm not going to deny that having film on your opponent helps a great deal, but the way some people argue, you'd think having streaming video of the game is a surefire way to destroy a football team. Were that true, Mount Union would have been the doormat of their conference long ago: "Mount Union broadcasts every home football game and select road games along with other athletic events on television on WIVM-TV 52 (Canton) and on regional cable sports network SportsTime Ohio." (http://athletics.mountunion.edu/multimedia/index)

My argument is that we are recruiting a generation of athletes that have never experienced the world without the internet and streaming video. Having more access to games and video highlight recaps of games is a great way to get in touch with them and show off other pieces of the university as part of the broadcast.

Your argument is best directed at the Johnnie administration.  Maybe if the Johnnies endure another 6-4 season, the silliness of their current policy will be revealed and they'll allow the broadcasts.

Agreed. I've got two primary reasons for voicing this argument in this forum: 1) I know there are members of the athletic department that read the posts on this board regularly and 2) to gain a little support from other Johnnie fans that live in areas that make it nearly impossible to commute to games on Saturdays. *cough*Oz*cough*

I have heard that Nate Meyer, the senior quarterback from Rocori, is strongly considering SJU.  Rocori is in the state semi-finals and Meyer is a very good leader and athlete.  Also, he is Eric Decker's step-brother so if it turns out he doesn't go to SJU, at least we can talk for the next 4 years how good we would have been had he attended SJU.

If memory serves me, ROCORI has a recent history of QBs in the MIAC.
Wasn't there a Sauer kid at UST about the time AK was at SJU?
The 2010-2011 Hamline Meyer kid and a Leizer kid at GAC,currently a Soph, possibly in the mix for 2012.

Are there any other ROCORI QBs that have played in the MAIC over the past 10 years?

I've made this same argument on this board for the past couple of years.  If a meaningless Hamline / SJU matchup on the last day of the season is getting almost 200 views...how many views would most SJU home games get?  200 views at even $5 a pop is another $1000...sounds good to me.

SJU could really use another QB...we played 3 of them in about every game this season and only had 10 on the roster.  I'm sure there won't be any problem figuring out which of them should be the starter.   ;)

The bracket looks a little different than I expected, but there is the bonus that UST and Delaware Valley are in the same region.

Woah... the bracket is not at all what I was expecting... who is the higher seed between UST and Delaware Valley?

On paper it appears St. Thomas will not be challenged until the semis.
