Geez, you take a day off the board and it blows up.

RE: WashedUp's comment about posters east of Ohio and their lack of a sense of humor.

It certainly is becoming a trend

I'd say the level of banter from your next foe is considerably lower than even the most irrelevant scribling seldom seen on this page.  Best way to dispose of this drivel is to quickly eliminate them at noon on Saturday.

Agreed.
Bench,

You need to remember that with all of the Stagg Bowl titles the East Region teams have produced the past 20 years, they take these boards much more seriously and don't appreciate Tomfoolery.

Also I wouldn't brag about national titles unless my team were the one to actually win it.  I don't think UWW or UMU winning a majority of the titles the past decade+ really means anything for St. Thomas.  St. Johns winning the championship in 2003 is about as relevant at this point as Ithaca winning their 3 national championships.  Wonderful memory but has zero impact on current performance.  Unless of course I'm missing something?

Any more relevant that SJF winning f*** all?  You clowns come running in here throwing your 'legitimate football questions' like they are Mike Tyson right hooks and then go running back to mamma after one little smack from Bench (admittedly he carries their side).  Your players have the same attitude?  It's gonna be a long, painful Saturday for you if they do.

Of course, you are.

Well, it speaks to the thin-skinned nature of the East fans, who get so wonderfully defensive when it's mentioned. And fans' banter -- not the outcome of Saturday's game -- is what the post was all about.

And, when fans on the E8 board are questioning the quality of the Tommies' schedule, it speaks to the West's long-standing position as d3's deepest, strongest region. While the NCAA was much better this year about moving teams around, teams that survive the West bracket have traditionally fared much better in later rounds.

USTBench

Fairness in conversation: I did get to the board after the conversation devolved in $**t talking.

UST has a pretty good run defense, and a lot of faith in their secondary. They time their blitzes pretty well so their linebackers get quite a few sacks.

On offense you'll see a heavy dose of Colin Tobin running behind a pretty big O-line. UST prefers the athletic running QB over the prototypical pocket passer, so expect to see a lot of nakeds/bootlegs to get Dakota Tracy a run/pass option. Down the field our biggest threat is Fritz Waldvogel (Gagliardi finalist), who is also a stellar punt/kick returner. Our tight ends get more involved in the red zone, and we have a few guys that can step up if Waldvogel is having trouble getting free.

Hey Tommie fans, a St. John Fisher alum and fan here.  It looks as though you have a hell of a program out there.  What can we expect to see next SatErday?

nice touch Washed up  :)

SJF fans-- you can expect to see a lotta your rush attempts stuffed at or behind the line of scrimmage. You can expect you see your QB wearing brown pants by halfitme. You can expect to see a lot of Tobin..rushing past your guys. You can expect to have a headache named Waldvogel. You can expect your Cinderella season to crash and burn. You can expect to be know how Wooster's basketball team felt in March.

Dear Pat,

dlip sincerely apologizes for ever suggesTing you were/are rude or being a clown in any way when posting during a football related discussion. Clearly dlip has not strayed to far from the east region boards to see what else is out there. this gentelman makes Charles seem like Moses! Again, dlip apologizes for his poor perception of exactly what a "tool speaking out of his ass" really is. Dlip will never again question the tone of a guru post!

My apologies,
Dlip

I don't if it's the use of the third-person, the random placement of capitalization, mixing up "to" and "too" but this post makes SUADC look like a genius.

Dlip's apology letter was written from a phone while shopping. In all honesty, he is impressed with the punctuation considering he was following his wife and two year old through Macys. This post is more on point for all the brilliant minds on these boards who check spelling and grammar when talking football. What the **** is with this board?

A step too far there, cowboy.  You aren't arguing with this board, just Tommies.

There is no argument  here "pilgrim." Someone on this board made a poor post and it was met with some fun, that's all.  ;)

Ahhh how nice it is to see repete again. If there was ever a well spoken and intelligent contributor to these boards, repete is the one!

In all seriousness, dlip is really looking foward to the SJF/St. Thomas game. dlip has a tremenous amount of respect for St.Thomas (from the little he knows of them and their solid W over Monmouth) and feels SJF is playing some solid football right now and feels that if SJF can win, it will be a HUGE accomplishment for the Cardinals. In dlip's humble opinion this Fisher team is a good one. It's two losses coming to a very good Salisbury team and a pretty decent Hobart team. A win over St. Thomas would be great for the Fisher program and the East Region as a whole. To happen, Fisher, who dlip considers the underdog here, must play it's best football of the year without question. Congrats to both teams for making it to the quarters and dlip is hoping for a competitive, injury free game for both sides come Saturday.

You'll have to excuse the Tommie fans beating their chest. They did just beat the Midwest Conference Champions today.  ;)

You are proposing there are no reasons to be excited then?

No. I'm proposing St. Thomas has not accomplished enough on the national stage in football to warrant the brashness of some of the posters.  I'm also proposing that the posts showing a lack of respect for their opponents are more reflective of a college football "flavor of the month" than they are of a program that is used to playing at this time of year.

Things I've learned from this board:

1. SJU has the best attendance in the country, which means the Tommies Suck
2. UST is on the verge of replacing Boston College in the ACC
3. People east of Ohio are very sensitive about their football and get offended when us Minnesotans talk a little harmless smack  ;D
4. If you haven't been blown out by Mount Union or Whitewater multiple times, you're nobody
5. Glen Caruso will be the next coach of Minnesota Columbia South Dakota

Illinois? Illinois fires Zook     ;) :o

Dlip likes the photo on the bottom of your profile when posting! Looks like a Johnnie home game would be a great experience for any d3 fb fan. When dlip's daughter is older he plans to travel to at least two games from outside the East region per year. With the tradition and the success of SJU, a Johnnie game may be one he marks off as a definite. Dlip also imagines almost every fan in that picture would do a better job representing SJU and it's student athletes than you. Not to say you are an "official" sju rep (which is obvious). It's a shame we can't really get some good cross region football talk without a couple people being ****ing dickheads.netters

Do you pronounce your handle as "d-lip" or as one syllable "dlip"?
