dlip shouldn't have even called anyone ****ing dickheads because looking back he participated in being a wise ass as well. Either way dlip has a ton of respect for west region teams and the region's level of football as a whole. He really looks forward to the days when he can see some west region teams in action first hand. With so many D3 teams and only a hamdful of people able consistently see teams from multiple regions play week in and week out, it is not easy to compare strength of regions. Dlip just thinks the sjf fans wanted to engage in some discussion with people who have a lot of first hand knowledge of St. Thomas.

Dlip guesses you would pronounce dlip, /d/ /lip/. It is just his first initial and the beginning od his last name. The full last name consists of olive oil and vowels.  ;)

dlip, even though a Union fan, would ****ing love to make the trip if he could. He would imagine that there are some SJF fans/Alum from the Rochester area and or west of Rochester, who will make the trip. The two or three times the Cardinals played in Alliance dlip recalls some Fisher fans making that trip. To play a program like St. Thomas, in the quarterfinals, would validate many hitting the road for this one.

Question mark remains, will the SJF starting QB (Kramer) play? His brother was the QB for the team a few years back when they went to alliance and gave MUC a pretty damn good game. The back-up has played well enough so far to help the Cardinals get W's in the first two rounds.  Kramer is a nasty athlete, but not a natural passer by any means, at least IDHO. It will be interesting to see how the Cardinals deal with Tobin and that big ass O-line. Tobin had 258 yards rushing on Saturday? Impressive, seems as if their QB did enough to support that for the win passing for 159 yds on 17 attempts with only one pick and a TD. Like dlip said earlier, for SJF to win they must play their best game of the season against what appears to be an excellent St. Thomas team.

Just a heads up though to some. Johns Hopkins was continually ranked higher (and/or tied with) in the SRFP than the Salisbury Gulls throughout the year by some pretty bright posters. On top of this, in the regional rankings, Johns Hopkins was ranked higher than Wesley (although dlip is not a fan of the regional rankings) late in the season. dlip's point here is that we know now, or at least dlip strongly feels like, Salisbury would smoke JHU, Wesley would smoke JSU and did beat Salisbury head to head. Salisbury beat SJF head to head and SJF beat JHU, on the road, in the first round of the playoffs. Hence, some very smart people, in region, were a bit off on a team's strength (JHU), so it is very difficult to gage just how strong teams are across regions. Don't underestimate SJF because of two losses. dlip isn't just saying this because he is an East Region guy, he is saying it because he thinks it is smart. Hammer the east all you want, even though it has not produced a top 1, 2, or even legit top 5 team in a long time. It has some very good mid-range teams in the 5-25 spots. As much as dlip respects St. Thomas and feels they are the deserved favorite. He does not think this game will be easy for them at all.

*Not saying you are hammering the east UST, just seems as if some do because the region has not had that one major power team in a long time. ;)

Mr. Ypsi

MIAC (esp. Tommies and Johnnies) guys, dlip is not even an SJF supporter (at least in general; east loyalty may have temporarily made him one).  You need to cruise the other boards now and then - EVERYBODY who is anybody knows dlip!  (I have even replaced all profanity with 'dlipping'! ;D)

You have much tougher 'smacktalk' than most boards.  Personally, I have come to love it, but I'm sure it IS an acquired taste.  Be a bit more understanding of posters encountering it for the first time - it DOES sound crude, rude, and tattooed (but funny as all get out) ;).

Geez, you take a day off the board and it blows up.

RE: WashedUp's comment about posters east of Ohio and their lack of a sense of humor.

It certainly is becoming a trend

I'd say the level of banter from your next foe is considerably lower than even the most irrelevant scribling seldom seen on this page.  Best way to dispose of this drivel is to quickly eliminate them at noon on Saturday.

Agreed.
Bench,

You need to remember that with all of the Stagg Bowl titles the East Region teams have produced the past 20 years, they take these boards much more seriously and don't appreciate Tomfoolery.

Also I wouldn't brag about national titles unless my team were the one to actually win it.  I don't think UWW or UMU winning a majority of the titles the past decade+ really means anything for St. Thomas.  St. Johns winning the championship in 2003 is about as relevant at this point as Ithaca winning their 3 national championships.  Wonderful memory but has zero impact on current performance.  Unless of course I'm missing something?

Any more relevant that SJF winning f*** all?  You clowns come running in here throwing your 'legitimate football questions' like they are Mike Tyson right hooks and then go running back to mamma after one little smack from Bench (admittedly he carries their side).  Your players have the same attitude?  It's gonna be a long, painful Saturday for you if they do.

like 61-3 painful?

SJFF82

check that....63-7...pretty painful too, huh?

There is something about a dlip thanking a ypsi that makes me laugh.  Maybe it's all meant to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously. Really, what am I supposed to tell my wife when she asks me what I'm doing, tell her "Chatting on the boards with Dlip and Ypsi"? Goodness gracious....  ;D

Dlip (2 syllables)  I understand your attempt at being reasonable with a couple of these posters who think the acronym for St. Thomas is MUC...but really, as far as I can tell, the Tommies have no play-off accomplishments to speak of.  They had the North #1 last year and fell flat on their asses.

They have compiled their undefeated record the same way DVC and John hopkins did....by wasting mediocre at best competition.  SJF will be the best team they face to date.....

As for the 'trash-talkin'....who gives a flyin Tommie....its what this is all about.....its not any of us are playing on Saterday.....

Its their QB who is going to feel the pain of 4 picks and a fumble....no matter what BS is tossed around here

If they had driven YOU off the board, I'd know they were 'playing TOO rough'.  Some of them do sometimes 'cross the line', but overall they seem like a great bunch of guys (and gals - musn't forget Bennie ;)).  And they are very informative - I have learned that Johnnies are 'rubes' and that Tommies 'suck'!  Apparently not enough 'hatred' for anyone else in the conference to learn such useful tidbits (and the consensus seems to be downright pity for Hamline, which might be harder to take than 'hatred'). :P

Hammering? That was one little factual jab from me. UST is generally too polite to hammer.

Not trying to inflame this further, but it's not about  "one power team" ... in the years since the East has won a Stagg, four teams from the West not named UWW have done it, including a No. 7 West seed.

I've got plenty of respect for what teams like SJF do on the field ... even if they spoiled my plans for a trip up to DelValley next weekend. I got into this whole kerfuffle with East  FANS a few years back after some were complaining about non-East teams getting put into their bracket.
