Mr.MIAC

I lived in the United Kingdom on and off for about five years.  Samuel Smiths is one of the only widely available independents still in operation.  They've increased imports (quantity and wider selection) to the North American market and they're well worth checking out.  I know for a fact that Haskell's has started carrying a number of the Samuel Smith offerings.

For anyone living in the metro, there is a specialty craft beer store in St. Louis Park called "The Four Firkins" that has a TON of craft beers.  Lots and lots of stuff I've never heard of, and I'm pretty much always happy with a new selection from there.

Interesting (though probably incorrect) news pulled from the E8 board:

Are there 2 Ryan Kramer's at SJF?   Why is he playing 7 meaningless minutes in a 25 point loss 3 days before arguably the biggest football game in his career?

Yeah, that was debunked. Easy to have someone else wearing his number at this point in the season.

I'm really not that much of a beer drinker but my favorite beer is free beer.

Beat this: I have purchased Sam Smith's from the Four Firkins.

If you really want to get amazing with beer, though, there is no beating a Trappist St. Bernardus Tripple.

Its like drinking happiness.

Hard to argue with that.  Free beer is often one of the only enjoyable portions of weddings that I am forced to attend with my wife.

...on that note, had a Breckenridge 471 Double IPA the other night, very tasty.

Thanks!  I will have to get me some.  Breckenridge Vanilla Porter is fantastic, too.

Finsleft, if I am going cheap, I go for Boxer Lager--36 pack for $13 regular price!  It's far from the worst beer I have had.

A few weeks back I asked the board why UST football was so dominate in the MIAC this year.

Holy ****!  Can you not wrap your over-infated head around the difference between dominate and dominant?

Even the saintly Rich Hall would blush with this offer.....

...but recently tried something very different/unusal -- Banana Bread beer.... tasted like beer going down, but left a hint of banana bread in the after taste.

Are you sure it wasn't just a Keystone Light?

I've had it...it's awesome.  In a different direction, what do people think of the Surly Brewing Company?  I hear it's really popular, but I haven't tried any of their beers.  They came around after I left MN and it doesn't seem to be available out here.
