Man, where did we ever get the idea that SJF might not be up to the challenge or that the East is a little weak  :o ::)

As Bethel sits listless having not played at all today. You are a ****in joke!

Easy big fella. Let me start by admitting that the comment was out of line. It was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, but I get that this doesn't come across real well online. My apologies.

I will say, the profanity seems a bit over the top. Easy to drop an F bomb on someone from a thousand miles away. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting you in person, I can only hope you have the courage to drop one to my face.  ;) Bethel is definitely at home. We blew it in the 4th quarter against St. Olaf. No one to blame but ourselves. But we gave the Tommies a whole lot better game than you did. And it wasn't even close.

I don't remember ever hearing a player that participated in a game complain about an opponent "running up" the score. I bet I know what Duffman would say about it.

Having radio guys call UST "classless" for running their offense is a joke. Classless to me is Ndamukong Suh.

Guess what, the "radio guy" laced em up for Fisher and he was dead on.

"Fisher is likely the best team they have played all year.  I am not sure about Bethel's size or physicallity but they are not likely any bigger or more physical than Fisher."

Dlip would not have any issue communicating his thoughts to you face to face. With thst being said he accepts your apology and offers one of his own, sincerely. He felt your post was obnoxious and he responded with an obnoxious comment of his own. To dlip the east is a very good football region. Dlip has been watching east region football for over 25 years and loves it. Yet he will readily admit that the west is a region with some very excellent football teams, players, students, and fans. Dlip respects the west, feels it may be the strongest region top to bottom, and has enjoyed posting on these boards. Regardless of respect if dlip feels a pot shot is taken at the east he will respond accordingly and harshly if need be

Dlip appreciates the apology and hopes you accept his. Good luck to your team in the future and have a good holiday season. We are now at the final four!.

Two pass plays w/ under 1:00 to go isn't trying to run up the score?

Don't get me wrong, you guys are damn good but come on that was horse ****.

Difference in philosophies I think. Over the years I think the MIAC, whether it be SJU, Bethel, UST or Concordia has had the mindset that you play the full 60 minutes. I think if the ball was on the 50 you would've seen them take a knee, but Caruso is losing a lot of talent next year and no doubt wants to give his freshmen/sophomores some playoff experience. UST has been blown out in the past, and I don't think anyone has called Gags (SJU's coach) "classless." That's just the way we play in this part of the country.

And to those that say, "I hope UWW puts up 50 on you douche bags." UWW would've put 50 up on you without batting an eyelash. Same with MUC/

I suppose that's possible, if by "this part of the country, you mean Minnesota, or St. Paul, or the St. Thomas campus. It certainly doesn't extend to the entire midwest.  In round one, UW-W won 59-0. They didn't throw a pass in the fourth quarter. On their last drive, they moved inside the 10. They then handed off up the middle twice. The back up QB then took a knee twice on 3rd and 4th down, even though there was too much time left on the clock to completely run it out.  Albion got the ball with about 1:30 left.  They ran out the clock without incident. It seemed to me a classy way to end the game.

I wasn't at the St. Thomas game, so I can't speak to what happened there. But I just wanted to go on record as to how UW-W handled a similar situation.

My team plays Whitewater annually as part of our WIAC schedule. Fans can think what they want. Broadcasters should watch their comments.

I'm guessing UWW's back-ups had a lot more PT in a 59 to 0 game than UST's did today. UST threw on 3rd and long and otherwise just ran the offense. Any other pass plays were short naked/bootleg run/pass options for our freshman QB that is a similar player to Dakota. And the ball was at midfield when Terrell-Byrd rattled off a 40 yard run to put them inside the 10. Was he supposed to stop and allow the SJF players to tackle him? It's not like UST was taking 50 yard shots down field.

It wasn't "classless."

And it's not as if UWW hasn't put up 60 or 70 on an opponent.

Absolutely. No worries. We should all be passionate about our teams, it's what makes the boards fun.

Bench,
StT went for it on 4th down,
threw passes with a minute left, and ran regular plays with under a minute to go when the game was over.
That contitutes lack of class.
Act like youve been there before....
You and I have no beef- Fisher got beat by the better team, Your coach could have proved it by acting like it

Tommie fans, you know your program's in good shape when your biggest concern about a national quarterfinal game is whether or not you ran up the frickin' score.

Nonstory, anyway. And was pointed out when the Tommies beat the Johnnies 31-7 in October (or whatever that one ended up...), even if they did run it up a tad, who cares. I think most Johnnie fans would love to be in the position where they're again facing accusations that Gagliardi runs it up. And the Johnnies did have a playoff game that ended 75-2 once. Didn't see it, but I'm guessing there were a few passes in the fourth.

And in this particular game, doesn't sound like it was running it up anyway. Caruso said Fritz could have played but they sat him out (maybe that was classless and a lack of respect. What, he thought the game was over?). And Tobin got pulled pretty early too. Backups deserve to play and run the offense.
