New turf at Clemens will be ready by late June.

QuoteStock and St. John's vice president for institutional advancement Rob Culligan both said the cost of the project will be less than half the almost $700,000 it first cost to install the turf.
The money needed will come from funds the football program had on-hand and a series of private donations, many of which came from former players.
The school will also be installing auxiliary lighting at Clemens Stadium to go along with the newly-installed lights on the field itself.  Plans to add 2 more stories to the press box and a jumbotron that would exclusively play ads have been delayed until 2013.

That last sentence was an AO addition, just for the record.  :)

Aww, come on Pat. You didn't even wait to see if it would stir up the hornets nest! ;D

The journalist in me thought it merited mentioning. People had almost two and a half hours to respond before I got at it. :)

Ouch.

Looks a lot like the Joe Theismann injury against the Giants years ago. From what I've been reading it was a pretty brutal weekend in general at the footy matches; quite a few major injuries.

I had the opportunity to meet former Viking Chuck Foreman and WCCO anchor Frank Vascellaro Friday night at an event at Hazeltine in Chaska. I gave them an invitation to make it up to Collegeville this fall for a Johnnie game and the Stiftungsfestivities. They both seemed interested. :D Keep your fingers crossed.

Breaking News out of Tommieville...any truth to the rumor that GC has persuaded John Nance to dust off the old cleats? Heard that he's been working out with QB's & WR's????

The Kiwis have created something funny.  Air New Zealand has figured out a way to get people to watch air safety videos again.  This one has a couple politically incorrect moments that made me chuckle out loud.

We usually take SAA to Cape Town and they have a fairly entertaining cartoon safety video.

I am thinking of buying a small used fishing boat.  Here where I live in NJ several of the lakes and ponds only allow a trolling motor.  Is a minnakota a good motor?  I have noticed that a majority of the boats in my price range have a minnakota trolling motor.  This would be my first boat purchase.  Thanks for any guidance you can give.

Hi KS,

MinnKota has a solid reputation a a trolling motor. I do not personally own one,but know many people who do /have owned them for many years & they all seem happy with their purchase.

Really, Minn Kota and Motorguide are your two options for trolling motors.  Frankly, Minn Kota motors are multitudes better than Motorguide.  Any idea what motor?  Are you talking transom-mount or bow-mount?
