Johnnie soccer will play home games at Clemens Stadium.  5 out of 7 of the games will be played under the lights.
I'm wondering what they'll do for soccer lines on the field?  Can they put temporary lines on the new turf?  I can't imagine them putting permanent soccer lines into the turf.

Faunch,

They can paint temp line onto the turf.  I'd be surprised if they tried to remove them after each contests.  From what I've seen it tends to take a little time for the temporary lines to fully fade away even after removal.

Linfield hosted a soccer camp a few years back during the summer and they painted on temporary lines.  It was months before you couldn't see them anymore (even after "removal").  That was the last time they allowed the camp to lay down lines.

Polarised lighting.  With a flip of a switch, the football lines disappear and the soccer lines pop-out at night.

St. Thomas ended up higher than I would have put them in the preseason poll, but I only get one ballot. And it's hard to picture Delaware Valley, who's right behind them, being better. (I had a couple other schools ahead of UST on my ballot instead.)

The Tommies are 8th and the Royals are 17th.  St Olaf is a mythical 33rd with 34 votes and the Johnnies are tied around a mythical 48th or so with one vote.  Nominally picked to finished fourth in the MIAC.  Come on, guys!  Win it all for the Gipper!

Nothing says "having a good time" like sticking a firecracker in your arse & then lighting it.... :o

I understand why they need to do it, but it's really gonna make the the brand new field look like crap.

Interesting...who? I know I am biased but I think I would've put UST ahead of Salisbury, at 7.

Oh, and Bethel is about 10 rankings better than SJF.

Blasted Northwestern. I think once someone from the MIAC figures them out, it's look out Trinity BC.

I was thinking the same thing. I wasn't impressed by SJF in their playoff game against UST last year. But when you make a deep playoff run you usually get some love in the national polls the following season, and rightfully so. I know Bethel's gotten that sort of pre-season love in the past.

Word out of Arden Hills is that the Royal D has the potential to be outstanding this year. One of their best in years. That's great to hear, as it should give the new QB time to get settled in. If we can run the ball and play great defense, it should allow for the offense to develop. I'm hoping the optimism at QB is accurate. A little more consistent vertical threat will only make the run game that much more potent.

I also think St. Olaf is probably underrated in this poll. I'd put them in the Top 25.

They return some serious talent from a solid team last year. Best QB and WR corps in the MIAC, and I don't think it's close.

Oz, you undoubtedly found this while going to the "Superfooty" link at the top of the page.

Ah, all good things come to an end - it seems #13's two year reign at the top of the GoJohnnies football page finally came to an end. :'(  http://www.gojohnnies.com/index.aspx?tab=football&path=football
