Did anyone watch the gophers last night?  I don't have that CBS sports channel, and sure wasn't going to stay up that late listening on the radio.  I'm wondering if UNLV was maybe a little better than advertised, or if gopher fans should be discouraged that it took three overtimes to win.  The Strib article made it sound like the gophers did not look very sharp...

I stayed up hoping to see Andre McDonald make a few catches...he had one.  He should have had a TD but the problem was he was too wide open down field and Gray threw the ball over his head.  Gray would be fine if all of his receivers were about 6'6" tall.  He made some pretty decent passes but missed a number of wide open receivers.  Ironically on the first play of the 2nd OT he connected on a wheel route for a TD.
The Gophs were probably a play or three away from a 2 TD win.  They made it a lot tougher on themselves than they needed to.  First road game, in the Vegas heat, w/ a 10 pm (central) start time, only 12 seniors on the Gophs, versus a team w/ a coach in year 3....a win is a win I guess.

Good take faunch. I stayed up until 2 flippin' AM watching this game. Minny should have won it in regulation by double digits. At least they finally got it done. Mrs. BDB came downstairs at 1:20am wondering what the heck was up with me.  ???

My Devils start the season with a bye. I wish I had a game to go to like you folks. Wait, UST at UWEC at 3pm. 20 miles away.

Nevermind.  ;)

At a local pub and there's a couple of complete f'ing idiots here that I've unfortunately met before. Almost enough to make a guy stop going to pub. Damn shame.

Go Johnnies!  Hopefully will be done with work before the game gets out of hand.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Looking forward to listening to the game today-hope there is progress.
One area of particular importance is coaching-I don't want to hear that the Defense needs a series to figure out the opponent. How many times did an SJU oppenent score on the opening drive or hold the ball for considerable time.
Also, SJU needs to show more speed on defense.
Should be interesting.
Hope the tailgate is in mid-season form!

When you've got the kind of talent Stiftungsfestivities has on its bench, they're in playoff form every weekend. Enjoy some barley pop in a red cup for me!

Let's have a good one, Johnnies!

Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody

Hey all. Sounds good on the radio.

And here we go on the defense coaching interview. VOJ is inviting the "one series" answer. Will we get it?

EDIT: Nope.  Looking good.

Ha. One memory that really sticks in my head was Mrs Oz's reaction to the Johnnie fight song being sung by a group of guys at her first Johnnie game. It was just like the movies to her. She couldn't believe it.

I'm not going to accept the excuse, "They just needed to get a feel for the Northwestern offense," this year.
