+k, AO.

I see that Bench is in first place.  Good luck staying there on your honeymoon, Bench.  That'll teach you to get married.

I'm sad to report that SJU football #1 fan John Quinlivan passed away this morning. John organized the kickoff luncheon, among many other things...

Fins, Very sorry to hear that news and my condolences to all of those who knew him well. I did not know John but received a very nice email from him several years ago when I wrote something for johnniefootball.com and joked about the ever-present ads on the radio driving me to steal from Coborn's just so I could be represented by Quinlivan & Hughes. In the luncheon article I know it said he was recovering from bypass.

Again, my condolences to all.

Thanks for all the wedding blessings, you guys!

Honeymoon is going down in NOLA starting Thursday, hopefully we can avoid any hurricanes and instead drink some hurricanes  8-)

At work right now dealing with a bunch of ding dongs and paperwork, so steamed.

Took first in the pick 'ems, allegedly? Made the right call not having UST cover the spread I guess.

Sorry to hear about SJU booster John Quinlivan passing away. Never a fun time when a real MIAC bad boy moves on to the next world. One red cup of Hamm's in his honor in two weeks. Then to purple. RIP

Closed-circuit to Bench: you forgot to pick the Wesley/Salisbury game.  every point counts.

And in a follow-up to previous news from the Northern Terrritory...

No fine for man who put firecracker up his bum at Darwin party

Acting Senior Sergeant Crispin Gargan yesterday confirmed to The NT News that Mr Bowden was not fined the usual $282.

"`We believe he has suffered enough in relation to firecrackers,'' Sen Sgt Gargan said.

I don't feel it's appropriate to quote here what the bloke's mum thought was funny.

52-7. Nice opener that has me slightly more optimistic than I was a week ago. Obviously the competition level increases the next two weeks and in most of the remaining games.

I was unable to attend the game because of a late afternoon wedding back in the Twin Cities. My girlfriend was in the wedding so I spent Saturday at her parents' house. I tried tuning into the pregrame show around 12:30pm only to learn their house didn't have a workable AM radio and because RealPlayer is archaic I couldn't bring it up on my computer. Instead of subjecting myself to DI afternoon blowouts on TV it was time for a road trip to the local Subway where I proceeded to listen to the first half in the parking lot, while obviously devouring a delicious sandwich.

I think the main takeaway from the airwaves is the defense is going to have to settle in quicker against UWEC. Giving up yards against Nrwstrn before holding is one thing but that won't get it done against more talented teams. It appears the offense has some identity with Bruns settling in and the multi RB attack. I'm looking forward to seeing Bungum in person. Sounds like he's fun to watch.

+K on your resourcefulness, Rube. 1) Get away from GF prepping for wedding for a bit, 2)get a delicious sammich, and 3)catch the Johnnies via the dulcet calls of Backes, Lebowski & Carbo

The big tests come early, Ihope to make the trip to the Land of Cheese. I am calling a Johnnie victory so I hope I don't have to eat any crow in Eau Claire!

Dammit. SJU v. UWEC is the same time as Stout v. Jamestown. Finsleft 1/2 hour away w/cold Hamm's. Dammit.

Fins, I expect text updates on your game and maybe slip by the Alehouse on your way back and I'll buy you 1 or 6.

(Or stay at my place again and we'll take the boat over to the Tiki Bar)  8-)
