Today in the Chicago Tribune sports section, SJU got a little mention. The Trib, on the inside page of the sports page, has an area where they poke fun at recent sports happenings or find something funny for an upcoming event. Today they had a map of Wisconsin, in honor of the Bears-Packers game on Thursday, and they highlighted some Wisconson team's loses over the weekend. Above Eau Claire was the caption Blu Golds blow lead and lose to St. Johns Johnnies. SJU back in the big time paper.  :)

So, is SJU going to release anything about the game on Saturday?  With an expected "14K-16K" visitors on campus, you'd think they'd issue a press release with parking info, tailgating info, dress codes, etc.

A tradition unrivaled...

Happy Tommie/Johnnie Tuesday!

Congrats to SJU on their win last weekend. So much better when the teams come in undefeated.

1) Sagatag - will you be up for the festivities this weekend?

2) Anybody mind if Bench parks near Stiftungfest so he doesn't have to walk forever and a day?

3) NOLA was a great time - and yes, ABITA! It means "healing water" in Choctaw. Went down so smooth, drank like a thousand of them. Really hurting, you guys.

4) Bennies are fat, Johnnies suck, and all that jazz.

5) Great to be back

Plan to be there before 9:00AM and you have a chance at some prime parking. If the Science Center lot is full- try back by the Abbey Church (look for the Bell Tower) there should be some spots there.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

How much does seating on the vistors sideline cost?   ;)

Also...wouldn't the expectation of that large of crowd be a good reason for webcasting?

I spoke w/ a fellow Johnnie at work and he told me that they used to video-cast their lacrosse games when he was going to SJU....WTH??? >:(

I guess it's fair to say that they're streaming a Tommie / Johnnie lecture.   :o

Remember, this goes deeper than St. John's just not providing a service to their fans that 95% of other schools do, they demanded that PC and d3football.com not conduct their own free broadcast.

I picture AO saying this while wearing a trench coat in an underground parking lot. "Follow the money."

That's true -- we did request video broadcast rights two years ago and were turned down.

Hmmm, turning down an outside 3rd party's request is much different than demanding someone not to do something....

Pat Coleman

It's the same result -- one was offered to be produced free of charge to the school (other than what electricity we might use, I suppose) and we were told no.

Demanded that we not do one? I mean, it's not like we said, "We're going to go ahead and do this anyway, shut us down if you have to," because that's not our style. And we are welcome to come do an audio broadcast but that's no longer as valuable as it was a few years ago.
