Funny... I get flowers, puppies and bible ads ... perhaps the ads are chosen by the individual's surfing habits ...  :'(

OA, has Auggie upgraded to Field Turf yet or are they still playing on that green steel wool with the seams at every yard line?  ;) Sorry if that's old news; I've been away for quite a while.  Played on the old field twice, and that was plenty. :-\

That stuff was bad, but my junior year we played at the Fargodome twice, and that was worse!  It was like playing on a giant, wire-bristle brush.  :-[

When I was in HS, we played a couple of games on the old style turf at UMD before they upgraded to FieldTurf.  I had never been so fearful of getting tackled.

Not only a Viagra ad on the MIACPP, but free shipping to boot!

That business model won't stand up for long.

I see what you did there. ;)

I see the D3football.com advertising department is getting on the ball.

Not only a Viagra ad on the MIACPP, but free shipping to boot!

Did someone actually call the Johnnies' program flaccid or did the ad simply sense it?

My thought was that it was directed towards SJU fans that are having a tough time getting excited about life these days....  ;)

How an ad gets automatically generated:

"This limp program is really disappointing."

"Tough to get up for St. Olaf when you've blown games against the Tommies and Cobbers."

"That's really all the Johnnies have? Aren't they going to show us some more?"

"I'm sick of being laughed at by girls when I talk about the Johnnies."

I set that ad to be blocked but it takes a few hours to filter.

My ads are for StubHub...that combined with the Viagra ads might be saying something about my masculinity.

I wouldn't block it if I were you PC. It's just a billboard type ad.

Watching TV with my kids and having the double tubs with naked adults holding hands and the announcer saying "ask your doctor if you are healhy enough for sex" is annoying.

This type of promotion is the same my son sees in Sports Illustrated every week. Without the free shipping.   ::)

Long time since BDB has been around. Didn't miss the cat though.

Less that 24 hours and we'll know this year's champion.  Hawthorn vs Sydney.  The two best teams of the year.  Hawthorn topped the league in scoring by a mile, Sydney were the top defense.  Finesse vs defensive discipline.  It will be an exciting game.

EDIT:  I've just completed my fist official AFL Grand Final dinner. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I say once in a lifetime because that as many times as a sane person would do it.  I'm a little pumped for the game tomorrow. I've got a pretty good seat toward the the wing. Go Hawks!  I'm pretty apprehensive, to be honest. I hope the boys are in bed having a good rest right about now.

Here's the $64K question about the Johnnies tomorrow. With the inability to get a running game going & Bruns out with an injury, what type of game is going to be called from the press-box?Does SJU keep trying to establish a running game & not have a back up QB try to do too much or keep throwing the ball because that is what has moved the ball thus-far in the season?

Your guess is as good as mine, but I think we'll see them commit a bit more to the run, but I don't think they'll abandone the air completely.  Of course, it seems like the o-line can't pass block or run block, so maybe they'll just take a knee three times and punt every possession.

A tradition unrivaled...

My guess would be they'll try to feel out both early in the game.

UWEC, UST and the Cobbers all have solid run D's. So the run game hasn't impressed, but it's also gone into the teeth of some good D's. Maybe Olaf isn't as stiff a matchup. I'd sure want to test that early to at least get a sense if I could alleviate some pressure on my new QB. Common sense says you at least have to try to establish the run with an inexperienced QB.

And maybe the new guy is really able to sling it. Having a week under your belt knowing you'll be getting a shot at playing does strange things to a guy. He may wilt, but he might also shine in a surprising way.

I think they'll have to be able to throw effectively to win though. I can't imagine Olaf's run D is utterly hopeless. And while their offense has been inconsistent this year (and doesn't have a strong run game either) they do have some deep threats at WR and a QB who can throw an effective deep ball. So there's always the reality that you're playing an opponent that might be inept for 2-3 possessions, but has the ability to score in one play at any given time. Not all teams are like that.

This is a really intriguing matchup. Wish I could go back and forth between it and the Bethel game. Oh well.

And it sounds like Pat agrees with the board on the Auggie - Bethel game. Picked to be his 'surprisingly close' game of the week due to potential at QB for the Eagles. If the freshman has the real stuff, they can definitely hang in this game, and then anythings possible (I know I don't need to remind SJU of that, or Bethel after Olaf last year  :o). But he's also going to realize (I expect and hope) that Bethel's defensive scheme, discipline, physicality and speed are just a wee bit different than what he's seen from Gustavus, Hamline and Concordia (Wisc.).

The coaching staff has been playing it close to the vest in who will get the start at QB,but the SCTimes mentioned 3 QBs (all who came in last week after the injury) may see playing time. Buy your tickets for the QB Carousel   :-\
