I still think they are a couple 225-230 pound linebackers away from being "solid" - too many 200 pound guys flying around. I like Zrust and Blenker in the middle of the D-line, and they've got a pretty good rotation all the way around in the line. 

Were you around in the early 2000s?  Our teams barely had a couple 225-230 pound defensive linemen, much less linebackers!

Hey all. Good to see the Johnnies will finish at .500 or better. I listened to the second (and best) half of last week's game from the sunny links of Barnboogle. A bit sun burned now.

1) A very sultry, yet insulting advertisement at the top of this page says that some very sexy older women "don't want young men, they want me!" I'm only 30, but...nice...nice.

2) Not a lot of talk about a top 25 in-conference matchup between Concordia and UST this weekend with major playoff implications. Outside of NDSU football and UND getting blown out by Montana State, Concordia has been a pretty decent talker in the Red River Valley this week. Griffin Neal and Brett Baune seem to be clicking and UST is looking like a MASH unit. Hopefully, some of the guys that sat out for UST last weekend can return because Concordia is a tough place to leave with a win.

Anyway, I'm skipping UND v. Southern Utah to make the trip down I-29, hoping for good weather and a good game.

There are few places in the US more scenic than St. Paul's Midway. A beautiful place to watch a game, Hamline's Klas Field was hand dug out of an old swamp bog by the region's first prostitutes. As you approach the Snelling bridge going into Roseville to your right you can see the stadium, once parked, take in the rich aroma of the homeless making baloney sandwiches on jerry-rigged car batteries. Once inside, marvel at the backdrop created by St. Paul's premier pay-by-the-hour office hooky getaway, the Midway Motel.

Taking the karma ding because Hamline has the audacity to compete with a hand-dug cranberry marsh, the smell of Johnnie Bread and the "Pine Curtain" back drop. Wow, show some class you guys, There are other nice places to watch a game besides Collegeville.

Some places have lakes in the middle of their campus, some have aesthetically pleasing bars in the windows of their liquor stores, for a "Southside Chicago" feel that gives people the feeling they could be stabbed at any moment. Maybe I'm just an adrenaline junky.

There's no way to prove definitively that Bad Bad Leroy Brown was a black guy, so I'm going to go with the latter.

Big tilt in Moorhead today, good luck to both squads and may be the best team win.

I'll be monitoring The Evil Neighbor, The Bear, The Fan and assorted other outlets as I travel to New Prague for another huge girls hockey matchup in addition to juggling four other hockey related events.

Last night sightings include former all-american qb Jeff Norman chatting up Patrick Reusse sidline style at the Osseo/Ep football playoff game, TDT escorting with the aforementioned qb and TDT exchanging Gags insights with Patrick. 

Did anyone stop to talk to Mike prior to his deer hunting departure?

Other media highlights include Brainerd hall of fame football coach Ron Stolski calling Gags one of the smartest people he's ever met.  When talking retirement the other coaching legend Stolski, who's been at it 40 years in Brainerd and is young at 73, has no intention of letting up and indicates Gags will know when it's time to call it quits. 

Objective is to travel to Arden Hills next Saturday for the finale of all finales.
