I'm a no as well.

I think he's played coy about it so that it could hang in the air as a motivational factor for the team and especially the seniors. 'This could be John's last season/game' type mentality.

I think that Hazz could be on the money with that...but at the same time, he's old...maybe he's tired and would like to take it easy for the years he has left...although his comments in the past about football being his only hobby would suggest otherwise...

I'm planning on being in attendance tomorrow, unless it looks like it will be raining hard.  I'm fine with some sprinkles, but if it is coming down in a more serious way, I'll enjoy BU's video feed, which is excellent  ;) , (commentary is "meh" at best) from home.

What do you SJU guys think about the QB situation?  Would you rather have the young Martin, or Bruns?  Or is there not enough of a definitive difference between the two to make you care all that much?

No-he always said he would have nothing to do. I can't imagine him living on campus (or just off) and not coaching-having to watch and/or hear all the noise. Unless....Jimmy gets the job-then maybe.

There is a huge difference. Bruns is a much better pure passer and plays well out of the shotgun formation. Martin can throw well but has the ability to pull it down & run and he has some wheels- something Bruns does not have. They are much different QBs
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Alright....how many of you out there think that tomorrow is the end of the road for John Gagliardi as coach of the Johnnies?

Put me down for a yes vote (after voting no twice on Tuesday maybe I just want to vote yes on something)
From my perspective the photo ops and spending time on the field after the GAC game tell a lot.  I think sometime between Sunday and the following Saturday an announcement will be made that he is retiring.

No, he stays.

Concordia just got a big boost from the committee as Wittenberg is blocking Wheaton and Ohio Wesleyan.  Cobber fans have a good shot if Widener, Waynesburg and Cal Lu can avoid upsets this week.

The cobbers just need to win and they will be in the playoffs.  I am not to worried since I will be hunting again.  Football should end at the end of Oct.  Why play into December.  It just doesn't make sense.  :o

If you're hunting in Montana, I sure  hope you have some serious winter weather gear.   That storm in Bozeman looks brutal.

Good luck to the Cobbers.

Hey MIAC gang!

They just had a vignette on College GameDay about Coach G.  Hmmm.....I am voting YES.

AO's right here. Both Bethel and Concordia need to win to ensure they're in the discussion. But if 1 or 2 of the 3 teams AO lists were to lose we'd be in trouble. It pushes more 1 loss teams into the Pool C discussion and makes things precarious for any and all 2 loss teams.

...and Hazzbeen, it is for this reason I am forced to succumb to societal forces that suggest is it more prudent to look only at recent history and immediate future rather than the bigger historical picture, and today, utter those should-forever-be-forbidden words -- "go Johnnies." Ouch, that hurts! But, pardoning an assumption of a Cobber victory at Gustavus today, they need to count on selections going 3-deep in the MIAC to get into the playoffs if Bethel also wins.

I can't count on that, so as against my druthers as it is, I'm hoping for a red swarm in Arden Hills today.

Oh, and yes, this is my first post since my jaw dropped to my knees (after) the end of the Cobber-Royal "asterisk" game.  Playoffs would abate my PTSD from that debacle.

If Concordia and Bethel both win and both advance to playoffs. This note will need to be eaten.

Huntingdon falls to Adrian! Good news for Bethel and Concordia.

St. Thomas locks up its third-straight 10-0 regular-season record, a first for the MIAC.  Congrats Tommies!

Waynesburg (terrible SOS but is 9-1) lost and Cal Lutheran (would be 8-2, 1-1 against regionally ranked) is down at the half.  Also Lake Forest lost, so whoever jumps up into that place in the West might affect the number of regionally ranked wins everyone has.
