Alright,

So in 100 words or less, what's the scuttlebutt on St. Norbit (worst move ever), Coe (does Fred Jackson have eligibility left?), and Elmhurst?

Thanks.

SNC rebounded from a disappointing opening season loss. Pretty good team from a very 'meh' conference. UST should win comfortably.

Coe. Best team going away in the IIAC, but the conference as a whole is down. They are unbeaten, have playmakers on both sides of the ball (maybe the best DB in D3). Real question is how good they are, since the down IIAC means they really haven't had to beat/play anyone yet.

Elmhurst. Pretty good team from a very good conference with probably the best RB in D3 (Scotty Williams). On the whole I don't think they have the juice to go deep. But with a freakish athlete and pretty solid supporting cast, they can definitely make a run. Not sure they have the balance or the D to get past Rd 2 though.
you're 35 words over the limit.

here's my take:
St. Norbert: Terrible team, terrible city, terrible fans, terrible stadium
Coe: no chance in St. Paul
Elmhurst: no chance in St. Paul

I would agree that Minahan Stadium - the team's former home - could be classified as terrible. Not so much for Schneider Stadium. It's a very nice place and a huge improvement.

B. it has a track around it

Elmhurst will battle Coe pretty close. I suspect that will be a high scoring game with not much defense. Elmhurst has an elite RB in Scottie Williams. If they make it to St Paul I don't see them with much of a chance. Any team with a great run defense will beat Elmhurst pretty handily. Elmhurst's defense is below average in my opinion but they have a very good running game.

nice to see Coach Johnson get a little ink....his class sounds cool enough that I'd like to take it

I've heard it's awesome. And Coach J and Jimmy are the perfect guys to lead the class. During the '03 season, the entire defense watched the interviews (1 episode a week) of the Easy Company survivors each Friday before practice. Talk about moving stuff!

Personal tidbit. I've got relatives who were in the Dutch resistance right where Operation Market Garden took place. Specifically near Arnhem, where the British 1st Airborne Division got caught behind German lines during the counter attach. My grandpa's cousins hid Allied troops in their barns and cellars until they could be rescued.

Later, when Hollywood did the movie 'A Bridge to Far,' which portrays the events, the cousins and their sons got to be extras in the film.

If there are any other posters in NYC on Wednesday, head to midtown, where I'll be meeting up with a Retired Old Rat for beverages, food and chit chat. Not sure New York is ready for this.

Very cool.  I wish I could take it.  My dad "visited" Dachau the day after it was liberated.  Only thing that ever shook his faith.

Man, I can't even imagine what that would have been like. Reminds you of the timeless nature of the Edmund Burke quote:

On a lighter note. Here's the video footage of the Bethel team's reaction upon hearing the announcement that they made it into the playoffs.

Always cool stuff, especially with the uncertainty!

For the Concordia Moorhead fans, I feel you should have gotten in. They probably are the snubs of the tournament.

On that note, who is more to blame for not getting into the tournament:

- NCAA Committee?
or
- Players running onto the field to cost them the victory at Bethel?

Unfortunately, my vote is the players. You never want to leave it in the committee's hands, and the question is rendered moot without that untimed down.
