Yep, roughy 4 hours.  I plan to leave the office early on Friday and drive directly to the game.  Anyone have any good hotel recommendations?

I would suspect that UST would be getting together a charter flight or two and that the school would have hotel rooms blocked out- check with the school & get on that block of rooms. You'll get better rates with the school.

If the school gets a charter flight or two-Twin Cities area Tommie backers do what ever you have to to attend the Stagg Bowl, it's a great experience.

If the school doesn't get together a charter flight- why the hell not????
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

SUMMIT!!!!!

Congrats to UST on the biggest win to date in program history. Solid play all around-- offense, defense and special teams all did what needed to be done to jump to the early lead and keep UWO from staging a rally.

Also congrats to Glenn Caruso on becoming the school's all-time winningest football coach. Here's hoping for many many more wins @UST for Glenn!

Friday will mark the 8th time a UST men's team has played in the national championship gamew in the past 15 years- baseball four times (2 titles), hockey twice, basketball once (with a title) and now football.  Add to it two softball national titles, and the recent volleyball title-- all of which have come on Steve Fritz's tenure as AD.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

That's pretty impressive.

Should be a great one Friday night. I am really looking forward to the match-up. Safe travels and hope to meet some of you at the Stagg Bowl.

Mr. Ypsi

Congratulations to St. Thomas - confound it!  I had all for quarterfinals right; if UWO had made yet another comeback (then lost to UMU), I probably would have had my first top-ten bracket finish ever! :P  Oh well, probably still top 100 - I'm usually mid-pack, at best.

Again, with gritted teeth I'll say 'Congratulations'!

mattvsmith

Congratulations, Tommies!!!  Way to take care of business at home. Best of luck to at the Stagg Bowl. The Rev will be praying for your success.

Well, even after the solid win today by UST posters on the OAC board are proclaiming the Stagg was already won in Alliance. Not much respect over there for UST right now. That's obviously coming from fans and not coaches or players. Still...surprising lack of respect for an undefeated opponent. Maybe Mount rolls 'em (wouldn't be the first time they did that to a team in a big game), but it's still strange to see a team so in your face about an upcoming victory against a team they've never played before.

Then again, I remember the last time a MIAC team wasn't given any chance in a Stagg Bowl against Mount.  ;) Of course, that team had Johnnie Jesus playing practically every skill position on offense.

Shark

Hazzben,

I can assure you that very few Mount fans hold that opinion. We respect the St. Thomas program and its accomplishments. You don't go unbeaten and advance to the championship without being a quality team.  I expect nothing short of a great effort from the Tommies and an exciting Stagg Bowl.
