When the Tommies win on Friday we all need to agree that the union is a paper tiger.  Eastern football sucks at the high school level, the D1 level, the DII level and the DIII level.  Put the unioners in the MIAC or the WIAC and you maybe make the Stagg bowl once ever 10 years at best.  Tommies might suck, but east region football is pathetic.

Whoever gave me -k for congratulating the Tommies, please speak up so I can repay you likewise.

It was probably a Tommie.

union has been there so often because you are the best of the lousy.  Who else is there over there?  MHB?  Sorry, but MHB is Texas and that is hardly east football.  Maybe we should ask Terrelle Pryor and Maurice Clarett and see what they think about the situation.

Mr. Ypsi

PurpleReign,

Based on your karma, I'm guessing I know the answer, but do you have ANY CLUE whatsoever how pathetically stupid those posts were?

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Maybe PurpleReign is talking about Union College in the Liberty League because Mount Union is from the Nort Region, not the East.   ;)
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Mr.MIAC

I don't know what's going to happen on Friday (driving down from DC, by the way), but perhaps the best thing about this season for UST is the fact that they've gone so far with such a young team.  They're only going to get better over the coming years.

My point is this - any team that makes it to the championship and loses the championship so much is probably up against poor competition to get there.  If anybody can explain why they get there so much and then why they lose so much - well then I am all ears.

Um, they have WON it TEN times.  Which is six more than anyone else in the country.

I assume you never followed d3 football until about 3-4 years ago.  Which I suppose is still a credit to you since I assume you are about 9 years old. ::)

Hey Ypsi, if you were to give me half of your karma, what could I do with it?  Buy a cup a of coffee?  Have a shirt dry cleaned?  Or nothing?  What is the value of your karma?  Or do you have all this terrific karma because you are a good and obedient boy here?

Actually, my karma has been going down almost daily for the last several months; used to be over 500. :P  My karma is quite small compared with many regulars on this board.  I guess you have taken Touchdown Tommy as your idol?  Or is it just that a lot of people think you are an a**hole?

I'm not particularly concerned about karma.  I DO wonder about someone who thinks a 10-time winner of the Stagg Bowl is a paper tiger.

[BTW, I am NOT a Mount Union fan.  But I do have sense enough to have great respect for a program that consistently (for 2 straight decades now) has been at the very top, AND (as Coach Kehres takes huge pride in) has a graduation rate for football players HIGHER than their winning percentage.)

Well, now that you ask, Pat Coleman has set up a special "point system" with national retailers based on karma. Participating retailers give you discounts based on your karma. Once you get over 500 (+) rating the discounts really start rolling in and can be sizable. ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

joelmama

No he has the karma because he acts like an adult (sort of) and is not a knucklehead.

Yeah Mount plays nobody ever.  Let's see how stupid that really is

Plays in the number 2 conference in the country.
Has played in 1617 now as of next friday national championship game out of the last 20.  Winning 10 of 16 soon to be 11 of 17.
Losing one regular season game in 17/18 years.  (BTW those other OIAC schools that have made the playoffs during this time have performed pretty weell until they had to play the machine for a second time.
Beating the daylights out of most teams in the playoffs all this time with an average margin of win more than a monkey stomp and in a few years will have 100 playoff wins at the current rate.
Playing anyone who is willing to play them in the one non conference game. (how did we get stuck with Bethany)
With a coach that averages 14 games a year and less than 1 loss per year for 27 years.

Yeah they play nobody.  And Mineestoa football is great at all levels?  They might be able to beat Ohio football in pee wees but nowhere else.

And so it goes.....PurpleReign the least you could do if you are going to try and make a point is know a little about what you are talking about. It's "MOUNT" UNION  not union and we are in the NORTH region where I suppose you think their football must also suck at the high school, D1, DII, and DIII level too. Put Mount Union in the MIAC or WIAC and I am fairly sure the results would be the same. Ya see it is not the region you are in it is the Coach that you have. Let me think back a little bit say...2000-2007 when the Tommies had a great football mind in charge. How did that work out for you?  :o (Did St Thomas suddenly move into a region where they could finally play some easy teams and win a few games?

Remember the OAC is the second ranked conference in the country just below the WIAC and above the MIAC. We have our Hamelines, Augies, Oles, Carletons and such but put BW, ONU, Heidelberg and now even John Carroll out there and you have a pretty strong comparrison with the MIAC. Remember we also play good teams for our one open date a year...maybe you have heard of some of them. UWO, Franklin, ST John Fisher(a real east team) all playoff teams this year and UWW. We need a game at the begining of the year maybe you could give LK a call and schedule the Tiger.

And in closing and always The Tommies SUCK! ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!
