Was very impressed with Coach Caruso and Pat Colemans interview...that interview is swaying me into taking off early to attend the National Championship and driving down to Salem, VA. Watching the interviews over this past year shows why this St. Thomas team is where they are now...
In my profession, it is always the tone at the top that directs the rest of the organization (program).

What is they say "attitude reflects leadership"? I usually find that one a cop-out for those that underperform and don't want to take responsibility for it - but it rings true in some cases. I have been reading up on the Tommies (I am not one of the "Tommies Suck" guys) and am impressed with what Coach Caruso has accomplished. On another note - I don't care what Massey says, this game could/should be a dogfight. Best of luck to the Tommies. I hope it is a good, clean, injury (and turnover) free game - and that the officials let both sides play!

BTW: I still want Mount to dominate to the tune of 56-6. What can I say - afterall I am a Purple Raider supporter!

Couple of things:

MUC is a high-powered, experienced, awesome offense BUUUUT I don't think UMHB's defense is even close to the same caliber as UST's. Additionally, putting up 60+ on something called Marietta or Wilimington on a weekly basis is not the same as playing the top team out of the West. Same with the first three teams they played in the playoffs.

I'm not saying UST will run away with this game or even win, but I don't think MUC is just going to roll in and put up 40+ because UST has big eyes and can't handle the magnitude of the moment. We're talking about a UST team with a ton of playoff experience and yet, some of their biggest postseason contributors have been freshmen and sophomores. Maybe UST pulls off the magical season with an exclamation point and maybe they go home disappointed, but I can assure you MUC is going to be in for the toughest game they've played all season, and a lot of the kids giving them trouble will only be 18 or 19 years old. And the seniors, well, they've played Linfield twice in their careers (1-1), got an up close look at a National Championship team in UWW (much like MUC), gone on the road and beaten SJU twice, been in several dogfights with Bethel and have just taken down an undefeated WIAC team in the semis. They belong on the field Friday, as much as any team ever has.

Something to think about anyway.

Raiders do NOT suck, but neither do the Tommies. Sorry Oz.

Would it be horrible to send my son to daycare wearing a Mount Union Football hat? (my daycare provider's daughter works with the U$T football team)

I picked Mt. over UST in the Stagg. Not sure how I feel about the pick now, but it probably means I have no shot to win. At least one of the 3 in front of me has to have picked Mt to win. And if UST wins I'll get jumped by someone. Still, fun to be in the top 5, especially after my late season collapse in MIAC pick 'ems  >:(

Wonder if beeyou is a Bethel fan? Maybe two Bethel/MIAC guys in the top 5.

I'd expect nothing less Duff. And to be honest, I'd be disappointed in your lack of commitment to Tommie hatred if you didn't. You've gotta be consistent  ;)

Too bad you don't have a shirt so he can wear it all day.

Go for it! I'd do the same in your shoes! But don't be surprised if it "accidentally" gets destroyed by playtime ruffians.

Yours truly.  I picked Mt Union beating UST in the Stagg as well...I'm sort of torn.  I'd honestly like to see UST win, but at the same time, I'd like to win the contest....I will be one conflicted individual while watching the game on friday.

Do I get some sort of trophy if I win?  ;)

Football Fan Charter Plans Change

Am I reading this right that U$T is only chartering one flight?  WTF?  I think SJU chartered 3-4 flights in 2003.  Don't they think more than 162 people may want to go to the game?

Any UST fans interested in trading a hat or a t-shirt for the same from UMU?  I have been doing this for a number of years and have gear from quite a few DIII schools.  Would love to add a Tommies hat or T to my collection.

PM me if interested.

Skip filling Lambo one week and that pretty much covers the cost of going.  UST supporters don't need no stinkin' charter charity.

Thought it might be you! I missed the Wittenberg's win and Widener over Salisbury. You?

Hazzben, that's only 3 points - you must have missed another one in the 2nd round to be down 5 points.

I'm out of it after picking 15 of 16, 8 of 8 and 3 of 4 - because I had Linfield running the slate. Oh well, there's always next year.

On the OAC Pick-Em's board the line was set with St. Thomas giving getting 20.5.  So far, all the participants have picked Mount.  I'll be very surprised if the point differential is that large.

Missed Coe vs. Elmhurst in addition to the Wittenberg's win that you missed, as well.
Neither hurt me past round 1, fortunately.
