Stagg Bowl Info

They will check bags/purses, but not coat pockets, etc...

There is no "leave/return"rule, as I have spent most halftimes out in the parking lot recharging for the second half.

Tailgaters all congregate in one parking lot, and it adds a lot to the experience.  For the most part, some good natured smack talk from the students tailgating.  I remember a 8 funnel beer thingy some Mount kids had one year, and it was pretty funny watching some moms take a shot at it.

I was not there last year, so do they still have an up and coming country music "star" do a mini-set out at the tailgate, and then sing the national anthem?

Around the square in Roanoke is a pretty hip and happening place.  A few swanky restaurants, and I believe a martini bar or two, etc....

That's all I got........

Have to go with BlueDevil Bob on this one.  Since the world is going to end next Friday, giving the Purple Raiders a full week to celebrate their Stagg win!  ;D, today's the last repetitive date.

I predict the Mayans go 0 for 2 on predictions. The first prediction they got wrong was the one they failed to make about their own demise. That miss kind of fatally undermines any other destruction predictions they made, in my opinion.

Is Dan Noehring injured for UST?  I'm one of those nerds who combs through the other team's stats so I know what guys to watch.  He appeared to be very productive, but only played 6 games and I didn't see him in the recent box scores.  I assume that's the case, but just curious.

It seems like UST spreads it around pretty well when throwing.  And as usual a big TE is a QB's best friend in the red zone!

p.s. It seemed like every skill kid I looked up was a freshmen.  Good lord.

12/12/12 - Welcome to the final repetitive date in the history, of history.

A guy that works for me took this picture of the phone on his desk.

Obviously, Louie's time wasting skills are exceeded only by mine here.

I believe he sustained an injury that ended his season in the game against Bethel.  I don't remember what type of injury it was offhand.

"Chicagoland Tommies are invited to watch the St. Thomas football team take on the University of Mount Union for the Division III national championship this Friday, Dec. 14, at Cortland's Garage, located at 1645 W. Cortland St., Chicago.

UST alumnus and owner of Cortland's Garage, Brian Roginski '99, will offer 2-for-1 appetizer specials before kickoff. Join your fellow Tommies and cheer on the team as it contends for St. Thomas' first football national championship. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. For more information and directions, visit www.cortlandsgarage.com."

Anyone in the Chicagoland area is welcome to CG tomorrow to take in the game. Should be a good time.

I had hoped some enterprising sleuth would have "outed" the preliminary SJU interview list by now, very disappointed we don't have better rumors circulating  ;)

But just for grins, here's what the candidates look like at another DIII school:

QuoteDePauw (D-III - IN): DePauw is set to interview their final four candidates Monday through Wednesday of this week. The four candidates are former Indiana head coach Bill Lynch (who is currently the associate AD at Butler), United States Military Academy running backs coach Tucker Waugh, Dartmouth special teams coordinator Christopher Wilkerson, and Monmouth College head coach Stephen Bell

http://www.footballscoop.com/the-scoop

Pretty impressive list - former DI HC, current FBS Assistant (albeit West Point), FCS assistant and DIII HC.  No HS school coaches on the list (don't get me wrong, I'd be very happy with Mike Grant).  No former DIII coaches.

Don't know if this has been posted yet or not but Reusse stated on the radio that Mike Grant will be interviewed tomorrow.

What I've seen in the St. Cloud Times is Grant and Ramler say they'll interview, and Fasching and former Augie DII coach Mike Aldrich have "no comment".

There's some more guys in the weeds out there boys, can't we find out some more?  ;D

A couple of questions came up in conversation between us Salem-bound, DC-based Tommies the other day.  How will a trip to the Stagg Bowl impact UST's recruiting success?  What about if they win?  Any thoughts on the board?

I reckon a victory will be bad for them.  National recognition and championship success?  Never pays off.

Okay, so it's pretty clear that any impact will be positive.  Major impact?  Minor impact?
