Also according to "The Football Scoop" there is a head coaching vacancy at Davidson (North Carolina) which is a FCS school

This feels like last year when SJU fans search around for another job for GC - can't say I blame them. Although if the rumor that he inquired about the UMD job is true, then maybe he is looking.

File under the FWIW category re: Davidson. School much like one of GC's former employers - Macalester. A little higher profile academically (more like Carleton in that way), just with D1 athletics.

Can't recall a time in the last 15 years with so much movement/job openings in the MIAC. Timing also interesting in that most are later. Have to wonder how recruiting will be impacted at these places.

Hey OZ. Why didn't you alert us to the Aussie Granny who shot off the "downunder" of two slugs who raped her grand daughter Down Under a few months ago . Might make some interesting reading. I'm just not any good at posting links, or else I would.

I must have been working too hard or wasting too much time here.  I didn't even know about it.

In our (SJU fan base) defense,we've had little to do the past 3 years except to wonder how our squad can get back to the winning ways. As the old saying goes,"my favorite team is the Johnnies, and my second favorite team is whoever is playing the Tommies".

We have kept occupied with the speculation of who will take over for John. Then after a successor is named there will be the inevitable bitching because the "wrong guy" was chosen- it doesn't matter who it is. Then we will accept and embrace the new coach after a brief period of bitching. After this we will begin to speculate on the new recruits as well as unlocking the hidden potential of the current players.

At this time we will get back to normalcy and start looking for a new job for Caruso  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I've jumped off the "Find Glenn a new job" wagon for a short spell.
When Saint John's beats that team on the corner of Cretin and Summit, I want Caruso at the helm. That way there isn't an opportunity for excuses--where the folks in purple and gray can say, "Well, we would've been better had our football savior coach not departed for ____(insert FCS school here)___."

True, dat.

I'm a Michigan Man to the core.  Back in the "Big Two, Little Eight" days I always rooted for OSU until The Game - it was SO much more satisfying to beat them when they were undefeated! ;)

A few short years ago I would have arranged to have you sent in for psychiatric evaluation for uttering such a statement Sam,but sadly this this is the state of the world currently. We surely are in the end days as this is one of the signs of the apocalypse. The Mayans were off on their count but the U$T(d)  rise to prominence of the MIAC must be a sign.SJU must return to their winning ways to make the world right again and I'm not saying the new coach will have tremendous pressure on him but to state it simply,he will  ::)

I hear ya Ypsi. Although, I don't think I will ever be one that roots for the purple and gray--ever.
However, in the future, I would be willing to tolerate Tommie success during the first part of the season to ensure a great Johnnie-Tommie match-up at the end of the season.

...but then again, it would be much easier to tolerate early Tommie success if the Johnnie-Tommie game were permanently moved to one of the final weekends of the regular season. However, the probability of that happening is nil because some of the other MIAC schools would have trouble finding a natural rival for the final week of the season.

Four minutes to go in the third quarter and it's a virtual certainty that the Vikes wil lose this game and AP won't get close to 100 yards. He's only carried it 15 times or so to this point. I swear that Vikings management has a handbook on how to maximize fan disappointment.

Spoke with a former high perfoming UST running back who mentions Coach Caruso is interviewing for open UMD job.

Your impressions?

Doubtful that he'll interview for a job that has already been filled.

Done.  I reckon your odds are better than you think.

Man, they have already cracked open volume two of the handbook: How to multiply the disappointment by losing it all to the Packers.

My impressions...wishful Johnnie thinking. Either you got some bad intel or it was just a feeble attempt to stir the pot because he did not interview for the UMD position. Swing and a miss!
