Spoke with a former high perfoming UST running back who mentions Coach Caruso is interviewing for open UMD job.

Your impressions?

My impressions...wishful Johnnie thinking. Either you got some bad intel or it was just a feeble attempt to stir the pot because he did not interview for the UMD position. Swing and a miss!

I find it highly unlikely that Caruso would leave UST for a D-II school, he'd most likely have to take a pay cut. With the resources available to UST in the form of media (WCCO radio deal etc...) as well as Caruso having access to run football camps & coaching clinics he is likely one (if not the highest) compensated coach in the MIAC and near the top in D3. A FSC school is his likely next move but he can pick & choose waiting for the right situation if he keeps up the winning ways.
