Oz, being has I failed miserably in my attempt to get free Hawthorn gear I have been trying to find an online site to order a t.  That hasn't been working out so good either, can you send me a reputable link where I could place an order?  Thanks.

If anyone beyond stanbob is intersted, here's the AFL online store is at http://shop.afl.com.au/

Looks to be about $30 in overseas shipping costs.  Aussie dollars which are worth about $.05 more than a US dollar, so about $31.50 US.
Doh ... I should have planned a trip to pick it up myself. I will make it up some way, Oz.

Can I send you a politician or two?

Here's another angle on Grant that someone brought up a few days ago:

Grant realized he wasn't going to get the job and withdrew his name to save face. Maybe its a combination of factors, but I could absolutely see him not wanting to get the cold shoulder from another D3 school.
Maybe, but Grant withdrawing his name also saves face for SJU as you can't be too upset about not hiring somebody who didn't want the job.  Grant doesn't even mention the failure to provide the same kind of support that St. Thomas gives.

I'm more interested in the expectations for Fasching.  It seems like most alumni want to see the program back to making constant trips to the semifinals and getting to the Stagg once or twice a decade.  How many years of 6-4 does Fasching get?

One.
On another note - Bears also looking for coach, any suggestions?

One, tops, but I have high expectations for 2013.  Gary is no stranger to success.

For shipping on the prize?  Cripes, we've got enough problems with our own politicians.

Did anybody see this in the Pioneer Press yesterday?

... Speaking of Ramler, it wouldn't be surprising if the former St. John's QB ends up as a candidate for the Luther College coaching job. The St. Olaf coaching job also is available.

Why did Ramler leave Carleton?

I think you're giving them too much credit, Oz.  I think they will make a choice quickly.

Also if there are any JC players who may transfer to D-II or D-I schools, they have until Jan. 15 to sign National Letter of Intent. I understand there is no NLI for D-III,but to rule this out (JC transfers) a new coach will need to have some time. I know this would be out of the norm for SJU but the new rules of recruiting are that you have to think outside the box if you are going to make an impact. There have to be a handful of kids at The North Dakota State College of Science that could make grades at MIAC schools & NDSCS has been a feeder program for many D-II schools in the midwest for years/ I'm just sayin'

Did anyone else that watched Grant's interview hear him say that he has had a number of kids already contact him and tell him that if he gets the job they want to transfer?  The way he talked it sounded like many of them are on D1 and D2 teams.  If this is true it would be a no brainer to hire him...Fasching has already been working on high school players.  Could it be a quick turnaround for the program if Grant can bring in some higher level players?

Any chance these kids transfer now?

Yes, depending on where they are & their situation I'd say there is still over 50% chance these kids would still transfer to SJU.
If they are in a situation where they see little chance of playing or the school isn't a fit for them, they'll look to transfer & if they have a good relationship with Mike (played for him at EP) they may ask his advice- so greater than 50% chance they still transfer to SJU.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
