Sju has an eight year deal with the bear so the point is moot. It does sometimes seem Tommies think CCO voluntarily gave up the gophers because they had a gold mine in St.  Paul.  When they lost Goldy the choices were crown football, the Tommies or reruns of classic Steve Cannon shows. But now I must leave our petty bickering.  My flight for Cape Town leaves in an hour and I will soon be worrying about heat exhaustion instead of Tommie dominance.

Thanks!  Any idea on the terms of that deal?  Does SJ1 pay for the broadcast like UST?

WBHR pays SJU, unlike U$T paying WCCO.  I think that says a lot, don't you?

The only thing it says anything about is the size of the market and the reach of the signals, guys. Relax. Also, to those who point out the SJU broadcast has more listeners -- even if there were stats that back that up, it would probably be because that's the only way to get the games online. :)

New Saint John's University head football coach Gary Fasching and the Johnnies will open the 2013 season with a 7 p.m. game Friday, Sept. 6, at Wisconsin-River Falls.

SJU returns home to host Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, Sept. 14, and begins the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) schedule at St. Thomas Sept. 21.

How about swinging in to Menomonie and playing UW-Stout every once in a damn while!   :o   ;D

Great idea BDB. Expect to see you in RF on 9/6.

Dear Pat and RonDoney:

Johnnie Red

BlueDevil Bob, in terms of getting the Johnnies back to Menomonie and UW-Stout, you might want to consider having Danica Patrick present for the game along with Bar Refaeli and Walter as her guests. If Walter couldn't make it, we could probably talk TDT into taking his place. :P

Retired Old Rat

BDB, I agree with you.  I'd like a little more variety.

I was excited when I saw the link go out with the schedule and was kind of disappointed when I actually read the schedule. But it also takes some time to revamp a football schedule -- I suspect these contracts were already in place. But maybe a game against Coe or Central or Dubuque from the IIAC, or even someone a little further afield in the near future.

Spot on Pat---> as UWW did in the 2002 season- bring it on with the non-conference schedule if SJU is going to move to the next level  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I'm sure Stout would appreciate playing any MIAC team, even mighty UST. ;)

I can handle playing the Jamestown Jimmies only so many times!  :P

We'll even bring the cheese curds and Leinenkugel's. Home and away.

BTW finsleft, I am definately in River Falls when the Johnnies are there next fall. I'll even pay to park the picnic table.  8-)

Looking forward to seeing you boyz...

Classic!  That was a ridiculous exchange with the RF security detail.  ::)

The security detail was actually the head men's basketball coach and players. They collect the money and work the parking lot at home football games as a fundraiser.

Stoutguy was there and knows him, so I think we got by without paying to park the picnic table, although a collection had begun amongst the pre-game revelers if needed.  ;)
