Oz,

The view in the Minneapolis area on the morning of April 18th.  The prior morning, it was bare grass!  This has been a horrendous spring in MN.  We're in another winter weather warning tonight!  :o

Dang. That's a lot of snow.
and another 4-8 sloppy inches on the way tonight.

Why did I move back here from VA?
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Because three snowflakes on the ground and people in VA start sliding into ditches and crashing into trees?

Dang, it's quiet around here.  Is everyone snowed in in late April or something?  *snicker* *snicker*
35 this morning.  Downright balmy.  I've retired the winter jacket.  Time to plan the trip up to Lake Vermilion to cool off.

I put the winter coat away a few weeks ago. I refuse to let it be winter anymore. :)

that and 2" means you close everything - school, offices, grocery stores, the malls, even some 7-11s - for a minimum of 2 days.

I put on my shorts and played golf yesterday. First time without long pants. I got some comments, but I refuse to let "Mother Nature" win. My car thermometer read 67 on my way home, so it was a good call on my part.

Snow last night, 70s possible this weekend.  With any luck, sandals, shorts, and tank tops for the weekend.  Sun's out, guns out!  ;D

Twitter NEWS!!!!!

Cobbers will release the names of their recruiting class in May....

Do other teams release names as a whole or no?

It would be great to see the MIAC all release the future athletes in my opinion but I'm new to the conference so Im not sure how that stuff all works.

St. Thomas released their list on May 1st of last year.   Different schools have different admission policies and there are no letters of intent to sign, so some schools may not really know until the athlete steps foot onto campus whether or not he's coming.

I wonder about that idea that a team doesn't know if a guy is coming until he shows up. I seem to remember filling out a lot of paperwork (grant forms, health, living arrangements) before I went to school and in today's process happy world it can only be worse. It just doesn't seem realistic that a guy can have that appearance of non-commitment.  It takes a lot of effort to be that uncommitted.

If I was reading it right The Tommies brought in 70 players last year? Is it me or does that seem like a ton of guys.

I think it depends on your point of reference.  Compared to the rest of the MIAC, then yes assuming these are all guys actively competing for play time (not the "everyone is part of the team, but many just hang out on the sideline" model).  Considering that UST is competing at the national level, 70 doesn't seem like that many.  How many do MU or UWW bring in each year?

Ha!  You're so funny!  My sides hurt.  Ouch!  Stop it!

70 players is a lot, though. It will take a bit of impressive dedication to teach all those guys to ignore the lessons of fair play and good manners, which their parents spent years instilling in their boys, and get them to crash the kneel downs at the end of a game.

That 70 doesn't even include the guys that Caruso actively recruited then sent a "dear John" letter to before fall camp!  :P

But it happens all the time. Schools make you pay at least a $100 (non-refundable) room deposit by May 1st. Still doesn't keep a kid from not showing up or leaving after a few days of camp, or shortly after camp ends. There are always guys who quit before the season ends as well.

So are you saying its not worth it to post the names of the kids that are committed right now because it might change down the road. So if no one knows how many you bring in it saves face a little, i.e. bring in 50 kids and only 15 make it as sophomores??.... Im confused on whether announcing the names is a positive or negative thing for d3 teams to do?
