Glad to have Fear here and hope the kid has a good career in Cobberland. Military families often have a tough go and it's good to see a kid get a chance at a good school and program. (I have now fulfilled my quota of nice things to say about the Cobs.)

Not going into the finances debate, but one small suggestion for Fear: Just post the link and maybe a little info rather than posting the entire article. Reward the outlet that took the time to report it with a few web hits. It's a good thing on a number of levels.

Our lake in west central MN is still about half ice covered.  Should go fast now, though.

You know you have hit the big time when Sid Hartman gives you a blurb:

• Minneapolis native Pat Coleman of D3sports.com received the Jake Wade Award, presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the media to the field of intercollegiate athletics. Coleman has provided statistical and rankings services for NCAA Division III institutions for more than 15 years. Coleman is also the social media manager for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. The award is presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Thanks, man. :) Pretty cool to be honored this way -- Dick Enberg, Keith Jackson and Robin Roberts, along with Sid, are among the previous winners. And even though Pam Ward has also won this award, I'll still accept it.

I feel like I'm a Kardashian

Ah, but a Kardishian has hotness as well (at least for Kim and that younger one). And while you could be a pretty fella, I'm pretty sure you aren't my type (not that there's anything wrong with that. No, of course not).
i doubt AO has the Kardashian mammoth butt and other physical attributes. THOSE would be more to you're liking Oz  :D

There is a male Kardashian too, but maybe I was attempting to refer to Bruce Jenner.  Good show if you like watching trainwrecks.

St. Johns announces their recruiting class.....http://www.sctimes.com/article/20130504/SPORTS04/305040021/Johnnies-football-land-large-recruiting-class?nclick_check=1
80-plus group?  Is this a typical size Johnnie recruiting class?  Forget starting a JV program, you need to build another dorm to house all these kids.

QuoteThe Johnnies' crop of incoming freshmen includes nine players...who will play in the Minnesota state all-star game and four out-of-state recruits who were named all-stars in their respective states as well.

I like the sounds of that.

Congratulations Pat. It's good to see someone who deserves an award, actually get an award.

Tom Thumb

Of all the incoming Tommies, Sean Scharlau is by far my favorite. According to the article below, Scharlau lost his father to cancer before his senior season started. I can empathize with him, as I lost my father to cancer during my senior year in high school as well. I wish this kid all the best.

Glad to be a part of the board. I will post links from here on out and I understand the importance of traffic to sites.

So the Tommies and Johnnies released their lists. Cobbers will soon... Any other teams planning on doing it as well?

Congrats Pat. And the Pam Ward dig made me chuckle
