Quote"This will be a great facility for generations to come," Glas said. "We didn't have enough room. ... When you have like 70 lockers for 140 kids, that makes it a little crowded."

How the heck did they work with that?

Not necessarily.  It just made the short-list.  Big victory, though.

Maybe if Tokyo wins the bid for 2020, the group arguing for wrestling can add a Sumo Wrestling event to assure themselves of a spot.

If Tokyo wins I hope they introduce the library silent game.

You just double up on everything from lockers to jock straps  ;D It's simple really...

I'll attribute that to him being a hockey player.  ;)

Chances are likely it was mainly due to that fact.  As he mentioned several times, he "played juniors".  I guess he was kind of a big deal.  ::)

And there we have it! I knew some great hockey guys at Bethel, Chris Carrol and Jared Gustafson being at the top of the list. But man there were a couple strange cats too. We had one kid freshman year from Warroad, constantly listed to Insane Clown Posse, and wore these crazy looking colored contacts that made it look like he had red colored eyes. Always made me think of the scene from A Christmas Story where they describe the bully:

Quote from: Ralphie as Adult[narrating] Scut Farkus! What a rotten name! We were trapped. There he stood, between us and the alley. Scut Farkus staring out at us with his yellow eyes. He had yellow eyes! So, help me, God! Yellow eyes!

Did the guy have yellow eyes Duff? Maybe it was Scut Farkus' grandson! True story, Farkus' son was a Tommie. (there, now we're back on track  :))

I already thought the A Christmas Story represented movie perfection. It's now even more perfectioner.

I should have left well-enough alone and reveled in my bigotry, but I had to check.  The actor that played Scut Farkus was born in 1970.  So unless he's an unholy pagan philanderer (a certain possibility for a Tommie), then odds are he hasn't had the chance to have a kid old enough for UST(d).  Dang.  It was going to be such an enjoyable Christmas this year, too.

EDIT: Unless you mean the actual person that Scut Farkus as based on.  In which case turn the Christmas cheer back up to 11!  That's definitely believable.

He's 42 and been married twice according to my google searches.  Having a kid at 20 or so is darn near responsible when you consider he had the means to support one and was likely married or about to be married to the mother.  Not saying he wasn't also a serial philanderer, but you evidently don't watch enough Maury (do they have something similar in OZ?) if you're shocked by having kids in your early 20s.   At University of Northwestern-St. Paul, the goal for a shocking number of freshmen girls was a "ring by spring".  There is a married housing dorm.  Kids happen.

Yeah, that's what I was going for.

On a related note, I was in a restaurant recently (can't remember which one) and they had the infamous leg lamp, better known as 'A Major Award!'

I took the wife out for our 5th :o Anniversary last night, and I had a Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA.  This was my first white IPA.  I gotta say, it was great.  Crisp and refreshing yet with the bite of an IPA.  Definitely something I can see sipping on the patio on a hot day.
