Chicagotommie, welcome to the board.  It's always good to have fresh posters.  As long as you can take as well as you give, go for it.

In the last 20 years UST(d) has won two conference titles.

Three (straight) conference titles for UST.

I was wondering how long it would take for that to be corrected.

No arguments with the preseason Top 25. Was disheartening to see SJU not even get a vote but they don't deserve it at this point and it doesn't really matter either.

It did just dawn on me that I'm beyond excited to see what Ramler can do as OC. There's talent up in Collegeville, there has to be with 150 guys and plenty of former HS stars, adding that to some of his smoke and mirrors should produce results. Both sides of the ball have been a mess for the last couple of years. If the offense can move the ball, put up points and avoid costly TOs that will only help the defense. I realize that's a pretty basic plan but they are things the Js haven't done recently.

Please don't hold back..." if you're not picked on your not loved" I can definitely take it from the best! I grow up on the south side of Chicago, not the softer side of the city... so please don't worry I can take it.  Plus I have been ripping on packer fans for years were I am more comfortable doing!!! I am jumping in to this head first on this board.  Give me time I will come out firing soon!  I don't know anything about ice fishing but when it comes to drinking Beer I consider myself a professional!

Go Tommie's!

Three (straight) conference titles for UST.

Three straight 10-0 regular seasons for UST. Something no one in the conference has ever done.

I think SJU's offense will be better. There's plenty of talent to work with on the offensive side of the ball with players like Bungam. However, I still think the defense is hurting for talent. Not too much to work with on that side of the ball.  Their depth is also a concern, even with 150 players on the roster. As the season progresses it will be interesting to see how they do against a team like Bethel, assuming there's a few injuries here and there.

Go Tommie's!

Where they apparently don't teach appropriate use of the apostrophe.

AO-thanks for saving my posts, I am honored. Of course those posts were directed to my loyola academy brother.
It is dangerous for parents to post about their kids or kid's team, but I guess I will probably be dumb enough to do the same in a few years, just make sure you have thick skin.
Yes, the Blue is the best H.S. conference football in Illinois.
How about the number of illinois kids at Minnesota DII schools, that is intetesting.

Was that "Loyola Academy brother" directed at me? For the record, I'm not a Loy Boy, actually went to Viator, but have a lot of buddies who went to LA and have friends that work/coach there.

Well I have extremely thick skin! Bring it on... It's really funny though how all the negative post come from mostly if not all from johnnies fans!  Man your life must really suck if all you have to do is bash newbies to this board! Well let it ride... To bad you won't back it up on the field, which is ok it's just like stated before you hade your run.  ;D

ChicagoTommie,

Welcome to the board! It's nice to have another Chicago Tommie backer in the mix. I've been on here saying for the last few years that Caruso & crew's recruiting efforts in the greater Chicagoland area were going to pay dividends. My posts have typically been disputed with the contention that UST is unknown to Chicago area players. I know this to be factually untrue as I have friends who coach at a number of local Catholic high schools who tell me often of the buzz surrounding the UST football program.

You will find that generally anything perceived by the red curtain to be pro-Tommie will be picked apart any way they can (including grammatically if that's all they feel they have) because everything John (or Ben-respect for Bennie) just can't stomach all the Tommie dominance (cue their frustration with my use of dominance, their need to cite all of their glory days of gone and our not having actually won the Nat'l title YET) of late. I have diagnosed most of them with "red (pun intended)-headed step child syndrome". Your having grown up on the south side, I'm going to make an assumption here that you are a Sux fan? I liken the rhscs (red headed step child syndrome) they suffer from as being similar to the syndrome the south siders have towards all things Cubs related. You know, how they take more pleasure in our pain then they do in their own success. I digress, we'll focus on our shared pleasure of Tommie football...good to have you...Cheers!

All that said, prior to and even a little bit since the Tommie glory began, this board was always typically a Johnnie smoke fest and the Red curtain has strongly resisted the Purple Tide. That resistance has severely subsided in the past couple of years as they come out their purple denial!

So true.  However, if your language is too formal for the Collegeville social scene--a sad mix of sexual frustration, alcoholism, and loneliness--they'll label you elitist.  But getting back to football, my bet is that six games in we'll see UST at 6-0 and SJU at 1-5.  Any thoughts?
