Per twitter, UST had 200 recruits on campus last week for their "Elite Prospect Day II." They had an additional 150 on campus a few weeks ago. Good to see the staff working hard right up to camp.

200 elite recruits at the D3 level???  WTF does that even mean.  Sounds like a lot of smoke being blown up kids arses.  If the state of MN has 200 elite recruits how is it the Gophers haven't been to a Rose Bowl since 1962?

If the name isn't important then why did you list it?  Of course you wanted to use the word "Elite" just to make the point that there are so many "Elites" at UST(d) and God knows how many average guys.  The rest of the MIAC probably has only 20 elites in total all added together, the sorry suckers.

My first thought was that Caruso has been massively over-recruiting and is using the "Elite" day to thin the herd of the wannabes which are no longer wanted.  My second thought was l33t.

My third thought was wondering how Fasching is doing his recruiting.  I wonder if he'll stick with the Gagliardi maxim that anyone who shows up gets a spot on the side or if he'll start over-recruiting and then cutting players that don't make the team.  Or if he'll keep those little things like names on the front of helmets.  Or if one day we're doing the l33t as well.

I'm pretty sure SJU had a similar event a week or so back.  As I was on Twitter the other day I came across a kid that had posted a picture of Clemens Stadium and commented on how great it would be to play there next year.  His profile also indicated that he was attending the Elite Prospect event at U$T.

Made the Jumbo-Tron at Target Field yesterday, again. That's about 5 or 6 times in the last 5 or 6 years my family and I are on the big screen, either there or at the Dome. This was the "twist and shout" cam.

This time, a friend of mine (who I didn't know is there) texts me from somewhere else in the stadium wondering why I didn't "twist and shout."

I'm not going to "twist and shout". Especially on the Jumbo-Tron. I'm a Jumbo-Tron party pooper.
