As for Twitter, UST is not the only program to have a team-run Twitter handle set to private. I'm not one of the chosen few on this one, though, so I don't know what we're missing. :)

You just need to follow them, and you'll be allowed.  They even allowed this tried-and-true Johnnie to follow!

A tradition unrivaled...

And bless you for taking that round for the rest of us, Duff (I had already decided to forego viewing the pic rather than "follow" the Tommies).   8-)

Don't worry.  I unfollowed as soon as I could!

I Know!!!! and he is not the only one, they got this other kid from Wisconsin who is at least 6'6'' and 330 lbs also!  he look like he eats a whole cow for breakfast ??? plus many others... they look deep at OL and DL for sure...I love the fact that they are throwing food at these guys like every few hours...I say just put a feed bag on them already ;D ;D

Speak of the devil, Caruso took a photo with both of them:

So the account is protected. Exactly what kind of Caruso speak are they trying to keep out of the wrong hands. I'm sure St Glenn isn't posting to the account. There's no way he'd be able to fit one thought into 140 characters.

I guess the concept of "social media" escapes the powers that be in the UST athletics communications department  ;)

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Okay, I just had to post this story...it's one of the craziest things I've read in some time.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/19/health/tlc-man-132-pound-scrotum/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

So I know that I'm quoting myself, but how is it possible that this didn't generate a single response?  My God CNN is reporting (the "news") that the man had 132 lbs. balls...

ChicagoTommie

Yeah! It kinda freaked me out! That a whole new meaning..."that guy got balls!!!"

It's called being deliberately responsible with your twitter account.  These administrators preach it to the students and athletes, might as well live it too.

To call it an example of UST being aloof is ignorant of what social media has become and how parents and administrators navigate their students through it.

Btw, I wouldn't be surprised if the account is run by Caruso.  A) he is hands on with everything b) the tweets are infrequent, candid, and come from his point of view.

I guess I don't see how blocking a Twitter account from unapproved viewers is "being deliberately responsible".  Unless the account holder is Tweeting team secrets or inappropriate content, I don't see any reason to have a protected account.  Isn't the purpose of the Twitter account to spew forth tidbits to the public?

Other teams play hard for 60 minutes. We play hard for 61.

You can have Steve Cannon or Boone and Erickson. To us, when we think of WCCO greatness, we think Dave Lee.

How many Johnnies does it take to change lightbulb? 2. 1 to change, 1 to talk about how good old one was. LOL.

@SouthDakotafootballsearchcommittee Guys, can we take this conversation to DM?

We WILL outwork you. We WILL outhit you. We WILL outwill you. We WILL. We ARE St. Thomas.

So how many times has Mount Union gone unbeaten in the MIAC? Exactly. #drunktweets

Love hearing SJU talk about beating Prairie View A&M. You know, team that lost 100 in a row. LOL.

Football is 40 percent talent, 40 percent heart, 30 percent brains.

No Mike Grant, hey? Well, okay, johnnies. #shakinginourcleats

Progressive, State Farm, Geico. Idiots all. Liberty Mutual is only true insurance company.

We don't want you to give 100 percent 100 percent of the time. We want you giving 100 percent 200 percent of the time.

Hey @refereemarkjohnson. Just watching the tape again, GREAT call on goalline against SJU in '08. No, really. #sarcasm

A winning program's about guts, talent, speed, strength, heart, balls, leadership. But mostly money. #honestthursday

4 a.m. guys! Can't sleep!! Crushing this film study! Who else is up! Who else is dominating!

SJU can have Winning With No. We like to Win With We.

I love the '08 goal line play - glad to see they remember, too.   8-)

Unless I've gone completely blind or don't know how this Twitter works I think that sfury might be pulling our leg.
