Huh, I just noticed that it's Richard Petty Richard Petty for the number of pages in this thread.

I just noticed that every time you post I spend ten seconds staring at the damned spinning berry you use. Hypnotic.

I'm a bit of a geek, preferring Linux (Fedora/Red Hat distros) and hope to put my Pi in a 4 inch rocket next summer to take some on-board real time video that I can watch from the ground.

Here's a couple of links:

Commercial break over, back to MIAC football.

Open source hardware and operating system?  Interesting.  Geeks breaking out of basement and garages and into the mainstream?  It will never happen.  ;)

One day to go. I'll be golfing tomorrow morning but following each play here with my iPhone. Looking forward to general disappointment at shooting a horrible score because I'm distracted and missing out on a glorious Johnnie victory live and in technicolor.

I will be watching my son play his second varsity game at inside linebacker-so unless my phone can stream the video of SJU-please post updates.

I was just reviewing the Game Notes over at GoJohnnies.com and I am cautiously optimistic.
The defense is young and has only 5 starters (a couple not full year starters) from last season.
What I see that intrigues me is the overall upgrade in speed of those 6 new starters. They will make mistakes,to be sure, but I am eager to see their first game Friday night in The Falls.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Does anyone know where to find a list of 2-deeps for UST?

Eau Claire just published the list of 2-deeps for this Saturday: http://www.blugolds.com/sports/fball/2013-14/files/ust_two_deep.pdf

Some surprises in there.  Looks like freshman Will Hilbert will be starting ahead of Luke Marks. The kid must be pretty solid to crack the starting lineup. Also, Matt Misiewicz is listed as a starter. I think this kid will be special.

Well it is finally time for football season.  It looks like the coaches are predicting some a tight MIAC with 3 and the two 4 rankings.  What are people seeing from all the teams?  I imagine game films will start to surface soon.

I somehow think Olaf is going to be a bit of a wild card.  Coach Stern has been there for several years, but it is first time as a HC.  I think he has worked to earn this job so I am confident in his ability to get the job done.  I know other schools also have new coaches so it will be interesting to see what they bring this year.

Anyone have any information on the following guys that were previous starters or backups that don't appear in the 2-deeps?  Kyle Whitley, Dan Noehring, Aaron Terrell-Byrd and Xavier Vergara.

Woooooo!!!  Big win for the Hawks over Sydney in the first round of the playoffs.  It was a real slug fest in the first half and was tied on 31 apiece a the major break but the Hawkers turned on the afterburners and ran away in the second half to win 105-51.  Now on to the Johnnies. Go Boys!

The article makes SJU football sound like a soap opera.  Are we sure much of this is true?

Good article with some new insights.  Nothing surprising.

Jim Gagliardi has handled this all with exceptional professionalism.  I'm pretty sure I would not have handled it as well as he has.  A testament to his upbringing.

A new era in Johhnie Football officially begins in 9 hours.  I expect a fun ride.

Johnnie Nation to Invade Western Wisconsin Town

Several of your Post Pattern favorites, and others who don't have time to waste posting here, will be tailgating in the parking lot in front of Ramler Field.  The ever gracious Touchdown Tommy is providing Stiftungsfest burgers and hot dogs.  Bring a beverage and treat to share.

Johnnie up, everybody!

Who's footing the bill for the parking spots that the tables will be occupying?  :o

Can't wait to see this blazing defensive lineman run down the field on kickoff coverage.
