Rev Thanks for the +k. With regard to the HU coaches, first nice win for them. My guess is that they know what their doing and will be pretty good. You don't hang around the Tressels for as long as Rogo has and not learn something. He has a tough job though and will have to be patient, or I should say the school and admin will have to be patient.

I would be happy to see them improve.  As much as I enjoy UST's current dominance, it would be better for everyone (players, coaches, and fans) if all MIAC teams continued on an upward trajectory.

I've heard rumors about Hamline's financial solvency over the past decade.  Some were questioning if, in a situation where cuts would be required, football might be on the chopping block.  Do you have any insight?  Does bringing in the new coaching staff signal this is not in the cards?

Does anyone know if Jackson Brett, the son of George Brett, is still on the UST football team?  I thought he was going to play baseball and football at UST, but he's only listed on the baseball roster.  Also, it was nice to hear former Viking Chuck Foreman in the WCCO booth at the UST football game...his son has joined the team as a freshman.  Are there any other children of pro athletes at UST?

[...] I am looking forward to seeing more of Jakob Certeza.  The kid is a load!

I absolutely agree on this one. He steamrolled a few RF linebackers on several occasions.
I will enjoy watching him play over the next four years.

Agree, agree, agree..
I also think they've got to get Sam Sura in the game more.  He was all everything in the Classic Suburban his junior and senior year.

Defense needs to find some guys that can fly to the ball and make plays.

not a son, but I guess the Timbervwolves Alexy Schved as a kid brother (different last name) who is a frosh @ UST.... no word on his balling skills, if any
I  hear the Mauer twins will be class of '35  ;)

some nice play by Nick Waldvogel.... i look forward to another 4 years of stellar play under that name

Nice to see 100 different kids got in the game yesterday for UST.

10 different receivers, 11 guys carried the ball. Good day to see what you have. Pretty surprised that the score was so lopsided, looks like UST has some amazing depth.

And the second was from the golf on Saturday morning.  These are a bunch of ducks roosting up on top of a 20 ft fence along one of the tee boxes.  Do ducks normally do this?

Wood Ducks will roost, but I've never seen a Mallard roost like that. Do you have any idea what type of ducks they are?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I don't know.  I didn't zoom in enough to see what it was.  There are a lot of mallards on the course (introduced) but I don't think these are those.  And I've never seen ducks standing up there before, either.  I think it's the Australian Wood Duck which would make sense.

Echoing, alway great to see the MIAC sweep a NC slate.  Hope they can do it again next week.  Helps to get two teams in the post season.

Ron,

We have always had some voters who are willing to change No. 1 votes midseason even if a team keeps winning. I doubt those people will change their philosophies this year.

Pat - my question strikes week one.

MU moves from 606 votes to 602.  By some people did you mean one or two guys?

No, I didn't mean one or two guys. Remember I said there are voters who are willing. I didn't guarantee that all of them would be interested in doing so this week, right? :)

I don't foresee U$T overtaking Mount in the rankings unless Mount takes a loss (which it looks like they could be susceptible to).  Winning games is winning games, no matter how ugly it is.

Here's an SJU question:  Do you think we'll see a drop-off in attendance this season?  Typically, there have been a lot of white-haired folks that I believe attended games due to John's tenure.  I wonder how many of them will discontinue their attendance?
