There's nothing clever on this board anymore.

I can get homophobia and a blanket "Team X Sucks" on the ESPN message board.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my team's success, but some of the comments/commenters that have come out of  the woodwork in support of UST just make me shake my head. That being said, the anonymous SJU circle j**king karma dingers make guys like Vegas Tomcat, (who continuously add to the dialogue but receive nothing in return) look bad for no reason.

Prior to the revamping of Post Patterns I had some really good natured ribbing with guys like Kilted Rat, JohnnieEsq, SagatagSam, ROR, Duffman and others. I have stopped by Stiftungfestivities  every year UST has played in Collegeville for the last several years, and have had a great time.

All I'm saying to both sides is realize there's a line. I would assume most of us are not 19 with still developing cognitive reasoning.

That being said: The Bennies...man are they fat or what?

CT, word is you got a little too creative on photoshop.  This time of year your graphic design talents are more welcomed in the t-shirt business.

You may even find a silent partner on these boards to help cover the initial working capital outlay.  The barriers to entry for parents in this market have traditionally been high, but from what I've seen you have the beginnings of a truly disruptive approach.  You don't let punctuation get in the way of your emotions in copywriting and if you struggle with the art, that can be outsourced to Macalaster.  Your best bet is to show up early on game day, post up in front of Davanis, put one shirt on display and wear another, the smaller the better.......200/300 shirts an hour, easy money.

About that Karma thing - My posts now have plus and minus numbers under the names of folks that have posted. Has something changed? I suspect I reached a milestone and now I have a new ability to honor or ding someone. How does that work?

That's what I was referring to as the redesign....assuming everyone sees it that way now.

Old Posters never die-- they just fade away!

Always fun laughing at the age-old, re-told Tommie jokes during this week every season, and always scratching my head as to why the newer Tommie responses always were filled with crass, toilet humor.  Rivalries are fun when competitive-- and lose steam when not.  13 straight for SJU took its toll, as there are so few of you good-guys left, USTBench-- with the newbies forgetting how it was one-sided for so long opposite their squad.  We get it- these things are cyclical.  Do they?

That being said, I don't hold out too much hope for the Jays this weekend.  This SJU squad is too green, too new, too reconfigured and learning to really dismantle the Toms' machine, and it's hard to shock anyone in a rivalry game.  Still, this game is magic because you can throw out records and expectations when they play-- and history is littered with strange events in this game benefiting both sides.

As for me, too busy working with the HS squad and my Gopher football tickets to participate much here recently, but will always be cheering the cardinal and blue on Saturdays-- and passively, the Pipers, in their rebuilding efforts.  And of course, (especially) anybody who plays St. Thomas.

Man, I was going to give you +K to offset the "SJU circle j**king karma dingers"...and then you had to go with the Bennie comment...wah, wah, waahh! :P

So, the karma thing...it looks to me like the "+" is the number of times a poster has been "applauded" and the "-" is the number of times a poster has been "smited".

A tradition unrivaled...

Correct. It's the only other karma option currently available in the software so I thought I'd give it a try.

I would never have made such broad sweeping generalizations if you were still Red Hot Bennie. Now, it's just "Bennie," which means even the stone cold foxes are phoning it in.

The Troll trophy is interesting... Has to be the ugliest trophy in all of college football.  Is Olaf losing to Luther a big upset or are the Oles down this year?

Jeez Wow touched a nerve I guess... Well isn't that the idea of having board! To literary talk "crap" about our teams.  John G.  is a legend in coaching but he is public figure, so make fun of him like it did was to get a rise out of Johnny Nation, so again feel free to attack me any way you want... I have leather skin and I kind of enjoy getting you guys riled up! WOW don't take so personal, I understand... As for being a fan say what you want! I have embraced the MIAC and the teams, so if you think I am going away as a fair weather fan get real! I will be here for the long haul maybe you should just enjoy the banter.  "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."  Look at that a nursery rhyme it dose fit my intelligence level... So a picture of John G. with a caption that states saying : "Holding Hands! Aw shucks I just crapped my pants! Fasching change my diaper! The Tommie's are going to beat us again!" Maybe classless but I guess needs to be censored. So I am truly sorry to Johnny nation and UST Bench! Again I have crossed the line I have meant no disrespect it was in bad taste!!!

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that."
