There's nothing clever on this board anymore.

I can get homophobia and a blanket "Team X Sucks" on the ESPN message board.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my team's success, but some of the comments/commenters that have come out of  the woodwork in support of UST just make me shake my head. That being said, the anonymous SJU circle j**king karma dingers make guys like Vegas Tomcat, (who continuously add to the dialogue but receive nothing in return) look bad for no reason.

Prior to the revamping of Post Patterns I had some really good natured ribbing with guys like Kilted Rat, JohnnieEsq, SagatagSam, ROR, Duffman and others. I have stopped by Stiftungfestivities  every year UST has played in Collegeville for the last several years, and have had a great time.

All I'm saying to both sides is realize there's a line. I would assume most of us are not 19 with still developing cognitive reasoning.

That being said: The Bennies...man are they fat or what?

I'm still waiting for the return of the cow cup.
Too bad the statute of limitations on recovering cow cups has run. Now, I must appeal to the tiny glimmer of goodness in your purple, shriveled, Tommie heart. ;)

Jeez Wow touched a nerve I guess... Well isn't that the idea of having board! To literary talk "crap" about our teams.  John G.  is a legend in coaching but he is public figure, so make fun of him like it did was to get a rise out of Johnny Nation, so again feel free to attack me any way you want... I have leather skin and I kind of enjoy getting you guys riled up! WOW don't take so personal, I understand... As for being a fan say what you want! I have embraced the MIAC and the teams, so if you think I am going away as a fair weather fan get real! I will be here for the long haul maybe you should just enjoy the banter.  "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."  Look at that a nursery rhyme it dose fit my intelligence level... So a picture of John G. with a caption that states saying : "Holding Hands! Aw shucks I just crapped my pants! Fasching change my diaper! The Tommie's are going to beat us again!" Maybe classless but I guess needs to be censored. So I am truly sorry to Johnny nation and UST Bench! Again I have crossed the line I have meant no disrespect it was in bad taste!!!

You've exhausted the appeals system, pal. Your claim has been heard and rejected by the Supreme Court of Post Patterns (read: Pat).

Man, I was going to give you +K to offset the "SJU circle j**king karma dingers"...and then you had to go with the Bennie comment...wah, wah, waahh! :P

I would never have made such broad sweeping generalizations if you were still Red Hot Bennie. Now, it's just "Bennie," which means even the stone cold foxes are phoning it in.

Red Hot Bennie is someone completely different. The confusion is understandable, I know how all you Tommie fans just blend together... ;)

Does your behavior on this board have any effect on your son or possibly affect the way your son is viewed?

That cow cup was lost the day you lent it to me. Personally, I blame the Hamm's. HOWEVER, I have made the offer of introducing a traveling Cow Cup Trophy, a sort of Cretin/Summit - Stiftungfest Tailgate tradish. Of course, you'll have to have a tailgating proxy to take possession of the new Cow Cup should your beloved Jays accomplish the unthinkable.

Correct. It's the only other karma option currently available in the software so I thought I'd give it a try.

So how does one applaud or smite another? Inquiring minds want to know.

Once you get to 200 posts, the option becomes available to you.

Is Olaf losing to Luther a big upset or are the Oles down this year?

It's still early, but I'm reading it as signs the Oles are down. They struggled with Northwestern and lost to a team that lost to Presentation. Presentation typically beats the Waldorfs and Trinity Bibles of the world and loses to everyone else.

It is a rivalry game. So there's that. But I tend to think (unfortunately) this was more an indication of the direction St. Olaf is trending than signs of improvement from Luther (again, see week 1 results for both).

We can both type, spell and post while sober! That's what makes us stand apart! 8-)

That is the first thing you've said on these boards that I actually agree with!

And don't worry Bench, Vegas, et. al. Most of us are intelligent enough to separate the morons of a fan base from the guys worth interacting with.

Hey Hazzben!

That remark saddens me :'( I have become a moron to you! I don't even know you. Well you are welcome to your opinion, for sure but its NOT reciprocal :-*

I know that GC can do no wrong in some of your eyes, but it's things like this that irk me.  He is the anti-John Gagliardi.

Can I get really picky?  It's the slight head tilt that puts me over the edge. It tries to impart that little bit of emotional significance to THIS REALLY BIG DEAL of being on the team. Even though I never played ball at SJU, one of the things that I really liked about the school was that you didn't really even know who the ball players were unless you knew. There was no idolisation. No rockstar atmosphere. St Glenn's head tilt and this photo in general do not convey the same morality.

A second thought about this picture and my regard of Gagliardi: he always treated football as a stepping stone to somewhere else in life - demonstrated by all seniors being named captain.  This picture has the feeling of a cult of personality where this is as good as it gets for these players - they get to be one of an anonymous herd surrounding the center of the program's attention. Actually, the more I think of it that way the more I really don't like this photo. Only one person is known; everyone else is a supporting act.

EDIT: even more on that line - the photo is darkened the further you get away from St Glenn. The players on the edge are really anonymous while the players near him get join in the radiance centered around him. I bet the people putting this together had no idea of the image they were creating, the cult of personality worship becoming so ingrained n our society.

I in no way support whatever CT posted (can't deny that I've enjoyed watching the fall out, he is the Miley Cyrus of post patterns).  That being said, why don't we leave the policing to Pat.

IMO, the rest is just a double standard.  The same guys who are policing other posters are the same ones on a soap box about Caruso's character - from some self appointed moral high ground.  Yeah CT was a bit more crass (some bad photo shop I guess)......but all these comments are a lot closer in color than some may represent.  I would guess that neither parties would say these things to the respective coaches.

Rag on the new guys as much as you'd like.  The old country club atmosphere is just as unbecoming.  We can't see the double dutch rudder (that's the latest ref for CJing) y'all pull.......but the double standard policing is on display.
The last shall be first and the shall be.......

x2!  And with only 6 freshman on the roster from the Chicago vicinity, I can't imagine that CT's identity is too secret.
