Boys of Fall

sfury, Agree if both teams play well Saturday UST will come out on top.  However, from week to week teams play at different levels.  Even last year, had the Johnnies not dropped that pick in the 2nd qtr it most likely would have led to a double digit lead for SJU at the half instead of being down (not to mention that loast momentum).  That wouldn't necessarily have meant the outcome would have been different, but ............   Stretching I know, but the football sometimes bounces funny.

A big time choke. That's what we need and I reckon the Tommies are just the team to do it.

What I love about this weekend is that deep inside Tommies know they are living on borrowed time. The only question is how much time. Fasching will bring the Jays to the top of the pile again, we just don't know how long it will take. Two years?  Three?  Do the Tommies choke and they lose it now?

For SJU this game is all upside. For UST(d), however, this game is nothing but peril. Traditional rival. Outrageous fan base expectations. Sweaty palms from all the hand holding. Doubt and uncertainty at every turn.  Even a double monkey stomp won't meet some expectations.

Yes, pressure indeed boys. You had best perform or the bandwagoneers will soon be diverted back to the latest happenings of Jersey Shore.  The Situation's got it down, yo.

I thought you lived in Australia? Sounds more like a guy from Fantasyland.

A lot of confidence over a pair of single field goal victories against some down teams.

Why did the St. Thomas linebacker steal a police car?
He saw "911" on the side and thought it was a Porsche.

Ah, the subtlety of the intentional misread...

Yes, confidence.  Confidence born of the fact that there is nothing to lose and only things to gain.  UST's nagging fear must be the opposite realization - that there is only loss to be had this weekend, no gain.

The good news, bench, is that you'll be able to stretch out nicely in the back of that lemo when the bandwangoneers bail.

Lots of leg room in '07. But it appears the bandwagon will be full for some time.

Could be worse, ESPN College Gameday is in Fargo, ND right now to cover NDSU, annnnnnd I'm a UND season ticket holder. Lots of green eyes up in Grand Forks this week. Glad the Fighting (to be named later) have the weekend off, but I still have to blow through Fargo on my way to St. Paul.

Sorry, it's been towed after being parked too long on Summit Avenue.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I'm catching a red-eye flight in a few hours and will be in Minnesota by morning.

Bench -  You heading to the game?

retagent

Bench - I may have posited this before, but I've contended that UND should just change their mascot to a black sillouetted guy holding a briefcase, and call themselves  "The Fighting Sue."  You could stick your finger in the eye of the PC (not Pat Coleman) crowd. Maybe only the lawyers would be upset. But they don't have a lot of love from the general public, so I'm sure it would work.

That's funny. Does UND have a law school?  If it did then this name would be perfect.
