What's that I hear?

It sounds like a train of some sort.....

Oh, yes. It's the Tommie excuse train pulling into the station.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Wonder how that plays in recruiting? Come to ust where we beat ourselves?

Hey, easy there, fella. This is a F.A.M.I.L.Y. friendly message board.

WHAT....DAY.....IS......THIS?

Brilliance without Borders took one right in the St. G cajones!

Way to step up and get it done SJU!

Agree on the conference being wide open still. GAC/Augsburg doesn't totally surprise me; That was last year right that Augsburg had to win on a Hail Mary against them? SJU could just as easily be 0-3 but these are the games they were losing past few years, plus having the defense back to somewhere close to SJU levels helps. (feels a little like 08 and 09 when SJU pulled out all those games; next step is to get it to like 89-07).

I can imagine how annoying Caruso sounded, although the sentiment I don't think is too outlandish. Gagliardi used to always say if you were going to beat SJU you needed to play a great game, the Johnnies had to play below their normal level and you had to get a lot of breaks. That was sort of arrogant too but the truth. That's where the Tommies are...and all those things happened. But I don't think you can blame Caruso for thinking/saying as much even if the delivery method is grating.

Interesting question I don't think many SJU fans thought would be an issue: When Martin returns...you can't bench Bruns, can you?

Boy, it's been a while since I sat glued to the computer for the post game show but I can't pull myself away.  Too pumped.

I said on the update board-what great play calling -the best I have seen in years.
Stay with the hot QB-good game management.
Sfury-I think you have to give credit to the opposition if they cause the turnovers, which SJU did in several instances-great pressure on D.

When the boys that were at the game start logging on I'll bet we hear some stories!

Congrats St. Johns - nice win for a great program in a tough tough conference.

Yeah that's a good point. But I do think it's just the reflexive default reaction for favorites when they have a game like this.

Also I didn't see the game -- what kind of turnovers were they, big hits, bad throws, etc. That can play a role too in feeling how it went.

Regardless...can not wait to read the postgame quotes and listen to the archived version and, hopefully, see some YouTube highlights if nothing else. Wheeee.

I think I said this on the game board, but will repeat it here, this was my favorite Johnnie game since beating the mount for the title

His (Coach C) comments (at the half) show a complete lack of respect.  The last question was about the running of Sura on the final drive before the half and he says something on the order of "ya he found a hole, its a hard hole to find and shouldn't be able, but he did so good for him"

He is flat out saying that his team is better and it was some blessed accident that he found the hole -- well -- the fact of the matter is they weren't, O-Line and Sura made the plays!
