Ok-now I remember.
Lt commander -wow congrats.
But what if they saw you in that dress?

Lt. Cdr, middle management at its finest.  Fill this out in triplicate, twice and then make copies and shred and burn the originals.  But you have graduated from, Turn your head and cough and giving short arms inspections.

Congrats, keep up the good work sailor.

St. John's was incredibly prepared for this game.  They read and adjusted to every trick and misdirection play that St. Thomas tried.  They ran a conservative offensive scheme and St. Thomas never did adjust to the short slants and screens.  Bungum is an exceptional receiver.  He's the total package and should join a long line of Johnnie game breaker receivers.  The secondary are better than the last couple of years and played off of O'Connell's tendency to be a bit late on his throws.

St. Thomas was fortunate to not have more turnovers as several passes were tipped and fell just outside the range of the Johnnie defenders.  It would be interesting to know if Fasching's approach will be to put in more time scouting the opponents.  It sure looks like he did it for this game.  And for the life of me I'll never understand why you would run a play that moves the ball from the left hash-mark to the right hash-mark where the kicker had missed earlier.  Maybe the middle of the field?

Good job all around and I think St. John's is going to be happy for a long time that they went with Fasching as their choice and added Ramler as their OC.

Must be very satisfying for the seniors to beat UST, especially after the drubbing from a couple years ago.

Caruso calls a very aggressive game with the fake extra point, onside kicks, fake punt, 4th down conversions.  They worked for the most part today against SJU; I admire the gutsy calls.  Reminds me of a friend who went through an entire Tecmo Bowl season with a bad team and never punted once.

The defense looks much improved, although still some room to get better.  Some missed tackles, blown assignments (especially covering the running backs), but I liked how they stopped the run (especially after Eau Claire last week) and got some pressure on the quarterback.

This could be a wild year in the MIAC!

I believe that at this very moment Fasching is the winningest head coach in college football (3 or more games coached).

(;) just in case some of your are a bit too sour to see the humor.  Gloating, but still humor.)

EDIT: I forgot MUC and Larry Jr.  Very fine company indeed.

My thoughts are summed up in my post about O'Connel earlier this week.  Ramler called a great game (last ten mins were odd though). The SJ1 offense looked like the last team to beat UST.

As much as one more blowout would have been enjoyable. It's good to see this game back to being one of the best games in the D3 season. Was great to watch.

Hats off to SJ1.

Fun game. Even prepared a tweet in my head about how fun it was even w/ a loss before the missed FG. Luckily I didn't have to type & post it. Best SJU game I've been to since the improbable 7-3 MIAC win team's win over Carleton.

The play before the FG attempt was stupid. They had scored on the same play earlier in the game so I'm assuming they figured they could get yards if not a score. Problem is they put their kicker in the same spot as a previous miss. In between they avoided kicking a simlar FG. Nice job of cutting confidence before putting the kid in the exact same spot in a much tougher moment. Even if they had gained yards on the play rolling right they were only putting the kicker at a tougher angle.

I also enjoyed the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year moment right before the 3rd QTR. Glad St Glenn had time to recognize himself during the game.

I'm beyond happy for Gary Fasching. A lot was made of the interview & hiring process. The Fasch is our guy & he and the coaching staff came up w/ a big one today. A great start to the MIAC for the Johnnies.

With the way MHB are taking it to Wesley, I'll tip BU to move up to 5th.

Amen to that--a great shot in the arm for the program. The Johnnies played with some swagger today, and that's something I haven't seen in a while.

How was the atmosphere, Rube? Last year, the Stearns County Sheriff's Department called the game "the rowdiest Johnnie-Tommie match-up in 27 years." I'm curious as to how this game compared. (I'm making the assumption you attended last year's game in Collegeville.)
