Listened to most of the game driving back from "up nort."  It was very difficult not to drive into a ditch.  All I can say is "oy vey."

Also, you heard it here first.  The 9-1 Johnnies, 9-1 Royals, and 9-1 Tommies will be going dancing this year.

Even though I wear red colored glasses it entirely possible that the Johnnies could finish as bad as 7-3. I sure hope not but 'cha never know.

I could live with that.  ;D

That would be impressive.

I definitely do agree with the sentiment that U$T will get better from having this loss.  Carleton will likely receive a harsher beatdown than they would have otherwise.  They've returned too much talent from a 2nd place team last year to not still be an incredibly good squad, and I could definitely see them running the table for the rest of their conference matchups.

PC,

Would the committee allow it?

Pretty sure Johnnies would get automatic in that scenario (assuming Bethel beats SJU, Tommies beat Bethel). Since they've been out of the playoffs the longest of the three. I think that's the MIAC three-way tiebreaker.

Obviously not expecting that or anything. Like Faunch said, 7-3 remains very realistic for SJU (Concordia, Bethel, Augsburg), I think, and that's not even including the tough games St. Olaf & Gustavus can bring.

Talk about counting chickens ... I suspect the Cobbers and Auggies will have something to say about this, especially as it relates to SJU.  The Cobbers always seem to play well at Collegeville, so let's first see if the Jays can get by them this weekend.

PC,

Would the committee allow it?

One time in the automatic bid era we've had three teams from a conference. In the unlikely event that all three teams here go 9-1, it would certainly be a possibility.

Wouldn't it be a near certainty?  SJU would be the auto bid and St. Thomas and Bethel would both have good SOS numbers and wins over regionally ranked opponents.

Just had this forwarded to me...    :'(

Talk about a high pain tolerance. Yikes!

We adrenaline junkies have all played after what would be considered a debilitating injury in the "real world". He probably knew it wasn't "right" but just kept on going. I played the last 8 minutes of a game as a center snapping the ball with my middle meta-carple snapped in half on my right hand. Did it hurt? Yeah, but not enough to stop playing - are you kidding?
