That being said, TDT is not the President of The Classy Club.
I nominate Johnnie Red for president of The Classy Club.

AO and miacmaniac, thank you so much for the nomination to be the president of the Classy Club. It would be an honor. Now if I could only find a hot babe to be the first lady. ;)

Whoa, whoa, whoa fellas! There are a lot of stones suddenly flying around this glass house of ours. Not to defend the ill-advised comment made by TDT here, but I know him well enough to know he meant no offense in his attempt at humor. I would be surprised if he doesn't apologize, if he hasn't done so already.
But go back through the posts and see all of the crap given to TDT over the years...much of it in poor taste and offensive while trying to be funny.

Section,

Would you expect anything else than the Wing T offense?  However, I haven't seen the cobbs play this season so who knows if they have switched it up.  Maybe they run a shotgun pistol offense.

Whatever the hell that is...?

When it comes to "the jacket" TDT deserved everything he got. You guys.

The Punt Pass....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a23JuEeitY#t=18

It is only a matter of time before Caruso uses this.  We all know Garrett Maloney is the Tom Brady of punt passers.  Seriously, Stevie Johnson better get his boys in line for this.

Notice EKU ran that play up 18 points with 5 minutes to play.  Don't think a coach would call that play with less than a 3 touchdown lead.  Anybody know the rule on that?  Does the kicked ball need to be caught behind the line of scrimmage?

I just watched some film on it.  It looks very similar to the offense Paul Johnson started at Navy.  He has taken it to Georgia Tech.  Other schools are also running it particularly the academies.  It is simple to run, but highly effective.  It can also be run by smaller players that may not be as skilled.  It relies on a QB that makes good decisions like former OU great Jack Mildren.  A speed guy can run the option with a lot of success, but they generally struggle when you keep a spy on them.  Some of you may be old enough to remember the old wishbone triple option.  This is a variation sometimes called the broken bone.  It gives the FB and one of the RBs a little more time to get moving.  In order to beat it you must play good assignment football especially with regards to the gaps.  Few teams have the skill to blow it up before it gets going.  The other important aspect is that this offense is designed to control the tempo of the game.  If a team running this option gets down early it is very difficult to use it to comeback.  If you don't understand it as a fan it can be about the most painful offense to watch.  I hope this helps.

According to what I heard on ESPN the answer is it must be fielded behind the line of scrimmage.  It was cool, but I am not sure it is something I would be willing to call if I were the coach.

What if it hits the deck?  Is it still a live ball?

And do you think coaches warn umpires in advance of the intent to run plays like this?  A ref might see this once in a career or less.

Why not just throw it then?

The only thing I can think is that you're hoping that the punter going through the punting motion is going to cause defenders to fall back, creating a clearer path for the receiver?

Nobody seemed particularly fooled in the video, and it succeded because there were 2 receivers / gunners vs 1 defender, so again, a pass would have been incurred much less risk.

Maybe their kicker is an Aussie who has been spearing drop punts like that since he could walk.

EDIT: Bingo!  I just looked them up.  The punter is from Essendon. Home of Kubiac's Aussie special forces buddy that supports the (dirty) Bombers.
