Only another couple hours and I'll be hitting the road on a pilgrimage back to Collegeville for my first game at the Natural Bowl since 2011.

Looking forward to a fun game tomorrow in C'ville. Last Twins game of the season for me tonight. Get to watch old pal Tim O'Keefe (Mr. Sioux) throw out the 1st pitch and sit in the suite with the Irish entourage. Then off to watch son Willie with a gig at Kip's Irish Pub to close out the night. All of this action will make the kool-aid tough to pull together, but I expect I'll be able to muster up a cooler of Hamm's for the tailgate.
I hope all your teams win, except Cobbers tomorrow, and Tommies always!

So, for the Cobber game on Saturday is the best defense against the Sailor's Chop Block offense to run up some scores early and force the Cobbers to the air?

Usually a good plan, apparently the cobbers are showing more balance this year in run/pass.  Plus, the QB can throw.  I won't catch the game this saturday, I will be at TCF bank cheering on the undefeated Gophers.

Sigh.....how can someone start off on the right foot at Cobber-land and yet fall so far astray.?

Nice article. Great to hear the altruistic reason behind the long locks. And the way so many guys on the team have rallied around his  desire to donate to Locks of Love. Always great to see a bit behind the scenes and find out a player as great as Mathis is an even better guy off the field.

OldAuggie:  Are you concerned at all about the Auggie showing last week?  Gustavus wasn't projected to be a top tier team.  Not necessarily surprised by giving up the 16, more surprised at only putting 19 up themselves.

Saturday:  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers between noon and 1pm. High near 64. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

It's looking a bit more promising in Collegeville.  I'll try to get the family moving in time for some pregame revelry.

Fellas, looking for a great homecoming tomorrow.  I'll miss most of you at the tailgate.  This is my 35th reunion and since I was a sucker and allowed myself to be Class Agent*, I'm obligated to do the activities planned by the alumni relations people. 

* No one else would take the job.  I think I was choice 340.  I've nominated Fins to take over the role.

Observation:  Wondering if the big change at SJU is the change in coaching philosophy as opposed to the change in personnel.  Many of the players are the same as last year, but there seems to be a renewed energy and confidence brought on by the new coaching staff.  Maybe John had slowed down to the point it was rubbing off on the team.  If this is the case the future looks bright for the Johnnies, their roster seems full of players these coaches can work with for years.

Is the average time to graduate at St. John's still 6.8 years?  Can't remember....

With all due respect, suggest a new source for breakfast as it appears someone has been pissing in your oatmeal lately!
