Veek

I am fired up for the game tomorrow with the exception of hearing that Fins has dropped the ball and his koolaid will be MIA.

The truck is loaded and I am ready to go.  I expect a great game and a win by the J's.

Looking forward to my first tailgate behind the pine curtain this season.

Go JOHNNIES!!!
Go Johnnies!!!

If the Cobs and SJU were in Moorhead tomorrow I would strongly consider going down to watch. Really not looking forward to watching UND have 50 hung up on them again by another top 5 ranked Montana school.

The Big Sky is a magical place where defense doesn't exist and the final outcome looks like a high school basketball score.

It might not be as bad at the game vs. the Grizzlies.  Montana State's QB is out until mid-late October.

Don't count out the Bobcats, who are usually QB deep.
Remember the '76 and '84 National Championship teams.  In fact, Minnesota-native Kelly Bradley was the QB who led the Cats to the '84 championship.

Funny you mention basketball scores in football.  My nephew plays 9 man and texted me that they won by a score of something like 79-58 tonight...Jaysus!!!

....actually I shouldn't talk....HaHa!    :P

Hard first quarter, as every Grand Final is.  Bodies are flying everywhere and there is almost no room to breath much less think.  Skills are at a premium.  Hawks up 15-3.

I know beer is usually the alcohol topic of discussion, but last weekend I was introduced to the joys of Fireball whiskey. It is hard to know if it is the alcohol or the cinnamon that burns so much, but it is delightful either way! Rough day at work + some Fireball= things looking up! 8-)

Go Johnnies!

...I can't believe you've never had that stuff before? Have you ever had White Swan? LOL    ;D
I know!! I didn't know what I was missing! I don't usually drink flavored liquor. While wandering around looking for the Fireball I came across Maple Crown Royal. I like maple, I like whiskey, why not! I haven't tried it yet though, I'm pacing myself! ;D

Man, this is a very hard, defensive game. It was just starting to open up in the last few minutes of the second quarter, though, so we'll see what the Championship Quarter brings after the long break. Hawks lead 35-12.

Can this game get any more intense?  Why, yes it can. Fast, hard third quarter.  Hawks up 56-46.

OzJohnnie

Wooooooo!  What a game!  Hawks take a contest fought tough until the final siren, 77-62. What an intense game.  I'm shot.

Ok, my pulse is back to normal. Let's make this weekend a big double.  Go Johnnies!

EDIT: The Norm Smith Medalist (MVP) was the Hawthorn big man in defense, Brian Lake. The best reader of the play in the game.  Here are his game highlights.

My last footy post of the year will be if I find a replay posted somewhere. Or maybe an extended highlight. Regardless, your long nightmare is over for a while.

Oz - I for one enjoy anyone's passion for a favorite activity. Don't apologize for living nearer the edge than most.

Go Hawks!

Maybe some of the BU faithful that post here will be at the BU alumni breakfast before the St. Thomas game and we can meet face to face. Here's the registration link: http://www.bethel.edu/alumni/events/football-alumni/

Great day for Johnnie football.  We expect sunny and about 65 at game time here in western Colorado. Plan to be in my regular reserved seat. ;)
