Maybe some of the BU faithful that post here will be at the BU alumni breakfast before the St. Thomas game and we can meet face to face. Here's the registration link: http://www.bethel.edu/alumni/events/football-alumni/

Wish I could. Unfortunately, I'll be unable to make it up to the festivities this year...

Great day for Johnnie football.  We expect sunny and about 65 at game time here in western Colorado. Plan to be in my regular reserved seat. ;)

Windy and raining 8 miles from Collegeville.  It's the type of weather that favors Concordia's ground game.  SJU could be in trouble if the Cobbers get ahead early.

Almost time to move to in-game update.
Good luck to all, more to SJU and no injuries to either team.

Ouch.  Johnnies didn't come to play today.  That one stings.  Cobbers sound tough!

Looks like we are going to have ourselves a race for the MIAC Title this year! Should be fun...

I just got back to the internet and saw that the Bethel/Carleton game was done already, so I switched over to the audio of the Cobber/Johnnie game to hear the last few minutes. I stuck around to see if they would announce other scores from around the MIAC - they didn't. So I went over to the live stat page of the Bethel game and cannot believe the rushing yards Bethel put up - 348 - yikes!

How do you beat STU at their place one week and then come home on Homecoming and, knowing you're in the drivers seat (or one of them) for a conference championship, stink up Clemens Stadium as a sewage lagoon?   Bruns and the D looked god-awful; absolutely brutal.

Coaches not prepared?

Listening to Fasching's post-game interview it sure doesn't sound like that was the case. Sounds more like the players came out a bit flat.

Had to again follow via Twitter, but I wouldn't think many SJU fans would be that surprised. Like was said this past week, they were three plays from 0-3 and 7-3 still seems like a reasonable goal for the year. Plus we knew Cobbers would be good. Will be interesting to see what happens with QB; will Martin go back when he's fully healthy?

Ron Don vindicated this week, ie., SJU offense not scoring more than 14 points in a half against the other top teams. Hopefully that changes or 7-3 might be optimistic. (Although sounds like the D was more of an overall issue).

That was a disappointing effort.  Let's hope it inspires them to lift further.

Actually went to the game today with my daughter.  My 3 boys wussed out because of the rain, although it ended up being dry for the entire game.  Concordia looked really good.  On two Concordia touchdown passes, SJU defended them about as well as you could but the Concordia qb put it in the right spot and their tall receivers went up and made great catches.  There is no better team than Concordia in the MIAC playing with the lead.  I would guess time of possession was not even close, maybe double the amount of time on offense for Concordia.  Another tough game next week.

Texas Ole

St. Olaf was painful to watch as well.  Go up a TD early in the game and follow it with a 2pt. conversion trick play attempt.  Why?  Take your point and be happy.  When you do this early in a game and then get blown out I get really annoyed.

Zimm- Did you go tricker treating as a kid dressed a Karnak The Magnificent?

Let's give Griffin Neal a little credit here. He's a big strong kid and runs the option to perfection. He (as the Cobber QB) was the leading ground gainer for the game. Several times when dropping back to pass he would get pressure from the SJU defense and would turn a loss into a 4,5,6 yard gain when his receivers were covered down field.

The season is far from over and it could be a horse race at the end. I for one am hoping the Johnnies are in the thick of things at the finish line.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
