Amen!  And to all the dads of freshmen, quit asking about your son seeing the field.  It takes a rare talent to make an impact as a freshman.  It's a big jump from HS to college, and while your kid was likely good in high school, know that there are 190 others on the roster that were pretty good in high school, too.

DITTO Duff! & Prayers/positive thoughts for your SIL & family

Thanks, all, for your votes for my #1's clothing design.  She is in first place.

....just voted! That's pretty darn stylish plus I like the hairy legs, that's very European.

Prayers out to DuffMan, Carrie and family.

Duff, you and yours get my thoughts and prayers. Oz, you get the votes, which are headed down under.

Been away from the board for awhile, but looks like a heckuva MIAC season.

I'm not sure.  I think she saw my RX73 and deal was sealed.

Statistical tidbit, for what it's worth (which is true unless I misread one of the years on the SJU site):
This is first time since 1967 SJU hasn't scored more than 20 points in one of the first four games. Before that? 1955.

So hopefully it doesn't continue like '67, when Johnnies went 3-5. Defense only gave up 9.6 ppg. But offense only scored 7.4 ppg.

It's Jimmy's fault.   ;)

Wasn't  he the offensive coordinator in '67? ::)

Would really like to see the offense break out this Sat to the point I'm almost expecting it. I excused the low point totals the first three weeks for separate reasons...1st game under new coach...home game in the rain...tough opponent. Last week was mildly disappointing but the team did move the ball at times.

We're now in the 5th week of the season, they've had an additional 3 weeks of preseason practice along with spring ball and a Canada trip. The time to put up some points is here. I don't know much about Olaf other than they haven't had a great start to the year. I don't anticipate a blowout but the Jay's should get in the 30 point range. With Auggie Tech up next week the offense is going to have to move the ball and put up points. Might as well start this week.

Something tells me SJU isn't going to go winless from here on out.  ;)

But that is an interesting stat. Also keep in mind, they've played at least two (UST & Cobbers) very good defenses.

MIAC Players of the Week Honors Announced:

QuoteConcordia knocked off No. 21 Saint John's on the road Saturday, and Cobber quarterback Griffin Neal received his second MIAC Football Offensive Player-of-the-Week award as a result. Neal racked up 269 combined rushing and passing yards and threw for two scores in the win. Gustavus defensive back Zach Dilger was named the MIAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week. His two first-quarter interceptions, as well as his five tackles, tackle-for-a-loss and two other pass breakups, help Gustavus score a big win over St. Olaf. Bethel kicker Andrew O'Reilly received the MIAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award after a perfect PAT performance. The sophomore was 8-for-8 on extra points, and sent his nine kickoffs a total of 505 yards in the Royals' victory at Carleton Saturday.

Congrats the players!

Anyone know where Nick Martin is with his recovery?
As much as I want to have confidence in Connor Bruns, if he has another game like Saturday against the Cobbers, we could have another week-to-week QB battle for the remainder of the season (which never seems to bode well for the Johnnies--at least not in recent history).

How is that relevant to whether he's to blame or not?
