Great comment by Dave Lee a few minutes ago. Following a UST score & subsequent kick off that resulted in a touchback by the backup kicker, Mr Lee went with, "St Thomas has two great kickers." Doh'kay.

Bethel         31
Augsburg    28

FINAL

D made some big plays when they needed to. 'Held' Scott to 186 passing and 90 rushing. If you had told me that would be his stat line going in I'd have been very optimistic.

Bethel felt in control from the 2nd quarter on. Pick at the end left the door open for Augsburg. And give credit, Augsburg kept playing hard and made it interesting at the end there. Their clock management was strange. Down 31-14 they just didn't have any urgency to score quickly. Came back to hurt them at the end of the game.

Dynamite drop in, Mr. Lee, that broadcast school has really paid off.

Certeza with a huge day against the Oles.
114 yards on 14 carries (8.1 YPC). This is going to be a fun four years.

Hoot dang!  Shame I slept through this one.  I'll listen to the replay later today.  Now that's the Johnnies I hoped to see last week.  Well, it's not too late, boys.

Before the season when Ramler said he would put the best athletes on the field,he wasn't just using an overused cliche'. A couple of times he had Certeza & Sura in the backfield- Bungum & Voshell wide and Moynihan moved from HB to TE and he threw to Moynihan a couple of those times.

I'm not sure how good or bad this St. Olaf team is,but they took Concordia to task 2 weeks ago but looked totally outplayed today...I'm not sure what to think.

I know the Johnnies need to forget this game & figure out a way to beat Augsburg next week.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Last chime in...Johns win the rest of the schedule.
Watch the NWC game tomorrow afor the and see what's in store for the MIAC winner.

Get past the WIAC first....then we will see.

For those scoring at home D.O.C is a Linfiled supporter NWC is his home conference not the WIAC.
Linfield  defeated PLU- both Top 25 teams, that's why D.O.C said to watch the game to see what's in store for the MIAC winner. Meaning, hopefully the MIAC winner meets Linfield in the play-offs.In the past the NCAA has sent the WIAC winner  to the "East" or "North" bracket when the "West" has been pretty heavy with top teams
Got it?  8-)

NS Sherlock. The knock on Linfield has been their inability to advance in the playoffs despite much hyped about regular season teams. They lost at home in the playoffs to Wara last season, so that's what the reference was in regards to.

I was there today too. Great atmosphere at Bethel for homecoming. Augsburg took a step forward, even in the loss IMHO. They played the # 5 team in the country and at times were able to move the ball and score. Congrats to Bethel on the win. This Bethel team is very good.

Yes, hopefully the MIAC winner meets Lintfield and beats them like SJU has done 3 times.........

Augsburg impressed me. They kept fighting when it would have been easy to fold down 31-14. And Scott is talented. He had a few uncharacteristic mistakes, but he's just incredibly dangerous passing or running. Surprisingly very strong as a runner as well (I knew he was quick).

It'll be interesting to see how Augsburg fares against UST, Concordia and SJU the rest of the way out. They are not a team you can sleep on...

Man I suck!!!as a UST father and fan took Carleton and the points in the Pickems'...Wow anyone getting 45 points should cover! I should be taking out back and cained!!!   :o
