carletonsid,
Great HD video stream of the game. It is one of the best I have seen.
Throw in some instant replay capability and it would be the best in the nation.

Could you call the folks at SJU and tell them to get with the times?

I think the MIAC should require all teams to stream. It's great marketing tool for the schools and the league.

awesome day in Arden hills. Got to experience a lot of seasons, weather-wise and see a whale of a game. BU looks as good as any d3 team I've seen play in person, period. I'd say they have the talent, discipline, determination, experience and coaching to bring back the walnut & bronze.  They have a balanced offense, and a very determined, hard nose defense. That goal line stand in Q1 was impressive and set the tone of the day.  They will cruise thru regular season easily and should be #1 seed in West. Mathis is a beast.....impressive to see him in person. Peterson mixes things up well and has a decent arm. Nice atmosphere today too...despite the excessive flannel plaids  :)   nice to enjoy a great game.

Before half, I ducked in my car to thaw out and caught this Dave lee gem "I don't have a clue what's happening on the field"... he was talking about the chaos in the final minute, but I think it summed up most games for him nicely  :)

I agree with Corn horn...hazzbeen, you survived as grueling of a stress test as medical science can conjure up1

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethel ends up number three in the West behind Linfield and whichever of the WIAC teams makes it through that three way rumble at the top.  But they are good.

First, they need to win out. That being said, an unbeaten WIAC champ, Linfield and Bethel would all have a legit case to be a #1 seed. So yes, technically Bethel could end up with a 3 seed. But I'd be shocked if an unbeaten WIAC, NWC and MIAC champ all got placed in the same region.

Assuming Mount holds serve in the final weeks against some surging OAC contenders, I think they'd get sent East again. At that point I think WIAC, NWC, MIAC and CCIW champs, if they're all unbeaten (and there's a lot of marque match-ups yet to be played) would be divided up between the North and West regions. Especially given the geographic flexibility Chicago, Twin Cities and WI based schools give the selection committee.

All that to say, if Bethel finishes unbeaten, I'd be surprised and disappointed if they ended up any lower than a 2 seed in either the West or North.

It sounds like Carleton got the HD feed ironed out. That's a sweet feature!

If all schools followed suit you could feasibly watch every MIAC game of your team on the TV...here's to hoping that becomes reality in the near future.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Didn't the WIAC get moved out of the West? or was that only for basketball? Or am I misremembering something from back in the spring?
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

I'm not a fan of league mandates like this.
I'd much rather point out how the SJU administration is on the hot seat for being obtuse.

Carleton attracting nearly 600 viewers today has to send a message to the powers that be at SJU. Just imagine the viewership that a Johnnie football webcast would garner.

Well, poll time.

BU stays 5.
UST drops to 15.
CON up to 20.
SJU up to 22.

I agree with your assessment of BU and UST. However, I don't think Concordia and Saint John's will jump as high as you think.
#21 Coe lost to unranked Dubuque, 38-14. Other than that, everyone else in positions 15-23 held on pretty well.

I'm thinking Concordia moves ahead to #22 and SJU moves up to #24 (#23 if they get lucky).

I encourage all Johnnies and Johnnie supporters to go to the d3football.com home page and vote for Bethel to be the most likely to lose a game this season. I'm not looking ahead but the magic must be fed. And if we walk into that last weekend off the season having managed to win the next two then we'll need all the magic we can get.

The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Johnnies. A great chance to get everybody healthy (and replenish the Johnnie Magicâ„¢ account.)

Sam;

Numbers 9, 11, 19 and 21 all lost. I reckon we have a chance to move up two spots each for CON and SJU. I was getting a bit big for my britches.

#21 Coe lost badly to a severely unranked team. #19 St. John Fisher lost a close one to a Salisbury team that has been lurking near the top 25 lately.

Coe will fall out of the top 25 in a big way, SJF will probably fall to #23 or #24 because it is their first loss of the season.

I have no dog in this fight but did anyone else think the pass interference call on UST at the goal line was suspect? 3rd and 10 and the penalty gives Bethel 1st and goal at the 2. Tough call to make in that situation with the db turned and looking for the ball. Others who were there may have had a better view than the online feed.

SagatagSam

I'm not sure if Wesley falls out of the top 25 because of their lost to Rowan. Unlike seasons past, Rowan isn't ranked but they still have name brand power and a loss to them doesn't look as bad as others (perhaps).
